Unpretentious Baker's Ammonia (4 Ounce) Ammonium Bicarbonate Leavening Agent

Good product. It was purchased as a gift. This item is difficult to find in local stores and is actually sort of a rare ingredient these days because traditional bakers dislike fooling around with it and it’s rarely called for in recipes these days. I will be buying this again.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Great for extra crispy cookies. Make sure you can ventilate your kitchen while baking because the oven heat releases ammonia gas and CO2 gas from the baked goods. The raise is pretty vigorous compared to baking powder. Excellent if you’re on a sodium restricted diet, because it contains no sodium. Quality: Excellent Baking ability: Very vigorous rise and excellent crispness to cookies and biscotti.

Many other products only give people a tiny amount, so I wasn't sure what "5 tbsp" was. But when it arrived, I was shocked. It was a regular sized spice bottle FILLED to the brim with product. This is probably 5 lifetimes worth of Baker's Ammonium (since you don't use much per recipe). If you're worried about getting a bottle that is barely full, you don't need to search any longer, as this is a ton for the price. I measured (with bottle) 137 grams, or 4.8 ounces. Its a lot.
