Not a fake review - AMAZING product :)
Ok - I've been a swimmer for almost half my life from age 7-21. I Have used power bar and a load of other bars after they came out. With that being said I have tried a lot of those bars and have tested their effectiveness in a practice and competitive scenario. I no longer swim and do Jiu-jitsu now several times per week. I noticed using lots of other bars there really would be a high n crash where at the beginning of class Id be more revved up and about 45 min or so into class id be not just tired but worn out and feeling that rigamortis type lactic acid solidifying my body and going into defense/recovery mode. After trying Hooah over powerbar, various energy bars and even a few protein bars, I can honestly say that it really does not let up and it doesnt make me feel like im on a high, just ready to go... no stopping.I must say that Hooah 30 min before training and Gatorade during training is REALLY a boost (as opposed to hooah and water) but Ive done energy bars and water and Gatorade with other energy bars and all permutations of other items but honestly Hooah has been working. Im not associated with them nor am I with the armed forces. Im am an athlete that is so darn impressed with this stuff that I was actually on Amazon to see if it caught on more and maybe the prices were going down cuz of people buying in bulk... I love this stuff. OH.... the taste... that really is the best of ANY bar out there too including odwalla or any other supposedly good tasting nourishing food bar. :) Good stuff.

Serious nutrition for serious situations
This product offers one thing that isn't easy to find from most protein bars. It offers a ton of calories and electrolytes. So, if you are doing important prolonged physically demanding work where mental clarity is also critical, it keeps your energy level up, helps prevent muscle cramps, helps protect clear thinking, and prevents unintended weight loss if you're unable to take meal breaks. Most other protein bars are for people who want to lose weight or use them after a gym workout, so they're low on electrolytes and low on calories. You eat a whole bunch but it's not going to help you for a 12 hour period of physical activity with no meal breaks when clear thinking is of the utmost importance. In that way, this product is excellent and the only one I'd recommend for real situations (as opposed to gym situations or trying to lose weight on a sedentary job situations).

"Tastes like a gourmet desert"...Not.
I was looking for an energy bar with more protein than the regular Clifbar varieties. It came down to the Clif Builders bar and this one. This bar is very similar in texture to a Powerbar, which is to say it has that weird, glossy-oily uniform texture throughout with no layering or chocolate coating like the Clif Builder. The flavor is okay, not great. And certainly NOT anywhere near a "gourmet dessert" as quoted by Dr. Phil on the packaging.I really don't now how anyone could come up with that statement other than having a lucrative endorsement deal.Speaking of quotes, I'd really like to know how this came out "#1 in taste tests". #1 compared to what?On the other hand, that weird texture and lack of chocolate coating would make these ideal in high temperature situations where the Clif Builder would certainly become quite a messy undertaking. You could carry around some Hooah bars in your pants pocket without worry. If that's your application, maybe these would work for you.In terms of value, since my application is occasional meal replacement I'd much rather spend a little more and have a Clif Builder to look forward to than a Hooah bar.In my opinion the Clif Builder is by far the best tasting, best textured bar of it's type and has the most protein. It's more expensive but it really does taste great. Just don't keep them in your pocket!

Above average energy bar....
Pros: Surprisingly palatable for an energy bar, although individual tastes will differ. The texture has a hint of crunchiness, is pleasant and easy to chew, unlike some other more commonly found energy bars at retailers. The chocolate flavor is just about right, not overwhelming or too sweet. You can refrigerate an uneaten portion or a whole bar and it will harden, but will return to its original state if you leave it at room temperature for a short while. Also tried the peanut butter version, which is pleasantly mild in flavor & sweetness & has a nice crunchiness to it.Cons: No easy to read expiration or manufacture date on individual bars or the carton they came in. There is a number code on each bar, hidden under the exterior wrapper flap, but it needs to be decoded & how would the consumer know how to do that?Bottom line, these aren't candy bars so it serves its purpose well. I'd purchase it again.

I don't support the war, but I support Hooah (and the troops)!
I randomly encountered this energy bar when I bought some rare Ghanaian highlife CD, and noticed this under "customers who bought this product also bought...HOOAH!" I almost fell on the floor from laughing so hard. Then i got serious. I'm an energy bar afficionado- since I play soccer first thing in the morning, I need to cram in some quick carbs. But I can't risk eating a proper meal, which might make me throw up after sprinting down the field. This bar tastes fantastic, and I can attest to the energy kick- I got through *two* games and almost scored a goal! And I have absolutely no eye-foot coordination!!!From the label: "The battle cry 'Hooah!" is a cornerstone of military culture. It communicates energy, affirmation, can-do spirit, teamwork, and fearlessness. Soldiers shout it as they jump out of helicopters, storm beaches, and freefall behind enemy lines. It means anything and everything except no."My only hope is that more people eat this so the price comes down.
