Was getting discouraged trying to train my Frenchie until I used this product. Amazed at how quick it worked as frenchies are notoriously stubborn.

My MIL had one of these, and it seemed helpful with overly protective dog who bites anyone too close to my MIL. Her makes a noise when shaken, and it startles the dog out of its intense focus on biting. I bought this one so I could enter the house armed and protecting myself so I would not be bitten upon entering the house and hugging my MIL. I felt relief when it arrived, but that was quickly replaced with disappointment as I realized the silly thing did not make a sound when shaken. It is supposed to have some metal balls in it to shake. Mine did not have anything in it. I would like another one that is actually assembled correctly. Arg!

I have used a can with pennies for years with new pups. My wife snuck this in and it works the same....but too expensive over the free aluminum can. People comment it failed...or pilot error. I think the latter. A shaker is effective if used correctly. The main point most miss....you have to have the dog's attention.Rikkos Mesa, AZ.

The item is not expensive and is easy to use. It appears it will take some time to see how successful it will be at decreasing the barking. There is already some positive reactions.

Had to wait a bit before writing the review to see how this works, but it is really a winner! Be sure to read the directions and follow them to the tea and the trainer works like a charm! I have had a problem with my small dog barking when other dogs approach or are around or when visitors come over. I did follow the introductions to the product and it was amazing how well the dogs listen. Do NOT use all the time or to scare the dog. The dogs do catch on in less than 3 minutes when you follow the instructions. I used it once when visitors came in after the dog barked to let me know someone was coming. Then when I had enough barking I shook the trainer and repeated, "No bark" and the dog immediately calmed down. Now when visitors come over, I let him bark a few time to warn us then I repeat "No bark" and it works - dog stops and calms down. We have two dogs and one is very sensitive to the sound. The other is also sensitive, but it took a repeat lesson with the other dog and after two incidents of shaking the trainer she was also trained. It is great for any problem areas that you may have. I did also have a problem with our dogs when walking and other dogs in neighborhood would bark at us as we passed their house causing our dogs to bark and carry on also. While on the walk, I had the trainer in my pocket and shook it once. Immediately our dogs calmed down. Then I noticed that our one dog was very hesitant about going for a walk for a few days. One day on a walk we again encountered the neighborhood dogs that started barking and all I had to repeat was "No bark" and our dogs did not bark. I verbally rewarded the dogs and also gave a treat after we passed the house and they were calm. I have been working on this situation for almost 4 years and could not believe this worked so well in such a short time! I may have to use it once in awhile as a reminder if necessary and I keep it by the door just in case. I recommend this product, but be sure to follow the instructions and read the pamphlet that comes with the product. It has made our life much easier!

Did not work for my dog. He started using it as a toy.

This product is a complete waste of money and DANGEROUS for your pet if it breaks like it did for me. With less than 24 hours of use, the bottom became unsealed, fell off, and the metal pieces fell out all over the floor. My puppy almost ate the pieces which would have been deadly.Aside from the fact that it broke, the product is a complete waste of money. Save yourself $30 and fill a Mason jar or can with pennies. It also created very little reaction from our husky puppy when used. We did not get to use it for long, but when she was biting or doing something bad, shaking the shake trainer did not stop her from what she was doing.

We have two miniature golden doodles. One almost six years old and one almost three. They are crazy. Jumping when someone comes to tge house to the point that we were afraid that someone was going to get their nose broken. The pizza delivery guy would literally throw the pizza at us and take off running. And barking! Omg! It was awful! Tried group and private training, citronella collar for the barking, a thundershirt to calm them down, and a sound, vibrate and shock collar. Nothing worked. The older one would go nuts and the younger one would follow right along. Then, my 93 year old mother in law decided to move in with us. I knew that after making it on this earth for 93 years, i couldnt have one of these dogs take her out the first week at our house. Out of desperation, I bought the Shake trainer, and honestly, it was a miracle. We trained Anderson Cooper in five minutes. Stuart, the younger one, isnt nearly as bright....it took about 8 minutes for him. Nobody can believe it! They still start to bark and jump, and I make one shake and tell them what they need to do and they do it! Coop took off out the front door and I grabbed it, shook it, and said “come back here” and he stopped in his tracks and turned around! Our groomer couldn’t believe they were the same dogs. I loved these guys, but they were a huge amount of work...lunging on people on walks, etc. They are so much more enjoyable now, and they are truly trained around Grandma! I don’t totally understand how it works, but for us, it’s a miracle. Just be sure to spend the time on the training......it only takes a few minutes. Hopefully it will work for you as well as it has for us!
