Baum Galaxy Jade 16-pc. Dinnerware Set

Love the design and color. The bowls are extremely thin on top edge and 3 bowls were broken cracked. I haven't heard from them on sending me new replacements as of yet. Do not put theming Dish Washer.

These are beautiful dishes, but I wouldn't recommend them for everyday use. One year later, and I have sizeable chips in several plates. Even after trying strictly handwash only, the chips are pretty much inevitable. The bowls are also VERY not microwave safe. They soak up all of the heat, and the glaze developed cracks during a standard 60 - 90 second reheat session. I no longer microwave them because I'm afraid they'll break.

While these plates are beautiful, we had a dessert plate crack in the microwave three months after we purchased this set from Bed and Bath. They do just fine in the dishwasher for us but they AREN’T microwave safe. Will be contacting Baum and hopefully we will get a response back for a replacement.

I have been using these for 3 months (they were a gift) and while they are nice looking I have encountered the same issues other reviewers have stated:1. They chip fairly easily (though this hasn't yet been a major problem for me, I have noted).2. They are NOT suited for the microwave. a. They absorb all the energy leaving the plate too hot to touch and the food cold - I thought it was our microwave until I read another reviewer with the same issue. b. They break in the microwave. I have noticed snapping sounds coming from the microwave while using these plates and bowls and I assumed it was the glaze cracking as it warmed. Today a plate split in half in the microwave (hence the review). c. They are likely too large for most microwaves with turntables - the square edges won't clear the door and rear of the microwave so the turntable will just spin under the plate.3. They don't stack well in the dishwasher (smaller gripe) because of the curved edges. I find I have to stage them every other plate slot.Would not recommend.

A good and beautiful set of dishes. Our only concern is that we've had to replace several because theyhave cracked/shattered when used in the microwave. Fine in the dishwasher though.
