Another winner from DK
Being half Italian I have spent a lot of time in Italy but there are still so many places I haven't seen yet. This book has 24 suggested road trips highlighting the best Italy has to offer. From the snow covered mountains to the north, the narrow Venice streets. Read about where to eat sleep and eat the best ice creams and Pizzas. From the Adriatic coast to the shores of Neapolitan Tyrrhenian sea and stunning Apennines the lay in between. The book itemises the various routes, whilst I don't always agree that some of the routes are always epic, the reader has the information here to choose and make up his own routes. This book highlights many areas of Italy that often gets overlooked such as Lago Trasimeno travelling along the RA6 from Tuscany into Umbria and this is what I like about this book is that the more famous tourist places are left covered in other books, so sit back and enjoy some of places less trodden as you plan our your post covid trip to Italy.Included are useful maps and many suggested places to eat and drink to suit all budget.

Fantastic info for an Italian road trip
As a family we love a road trip so I thought reviewing this book would be right up our street, even if travel is more difficult than normal due to Corona virus. We've driven to and through Italy a couple of times and thoroughly enjoyed it but always had the feeling we'd missed a lot as we followed routes planned in advance simply using a road map and some online guidance. This book is packed full of information, from routes to take, places to see, where to stay, where to eat..... Plus lots more. It's the sort of book which is not only very useful when planning a journey but also handy to keep in the car while travelling.Hopefully we'll be able to get back on the road again soon and put this book to good use!The price seems very fair for the amount of information contained.I'm so impressed I'm currently looking for other books in the series for France and Spain.I hope you find my review helpful.

A lovely and thoughtful gift
As soon as I saw that DK Eyewitness were doing road trip guides, I knew I just had to have them. And of all places, Italy! This would no doubt be the perfect guide to discover wonderful Italian drives, the paperback is really well made, it feels good in your hands and without highlighting bits in the book, it includes maps and available tours to really allow you to immersive yourself in the culture. Absolutely recommended, even as a gift - I know I would love to receive this as a gift!

Inspirational
I have not seen the Road Trips series from DK before but this one is inspiring. It's a cross between a book to plan with and a book to take with on your trip, and features 24 road trips around Italy. Each is 3-5 days long and you can easily combine them. What I particularly like about this is that they are prescriptive without being regimental. They are all about choosing a number of towns/villages on a route and telling you how to get between them and some of the sights which you can visit. There is the usual guide to the country at the start and some tips about driving and car hire as well. There is a proper map of Italy which is a bit small, but if you do get this I would recommend getting a proper map or use the satnav. The one criticism I do have of the book is that the routes are very much how you would expect them before satnav... perhaps a more specific destination which you could put into the satnav would be useful. That aside this is excellent and I very much look forward to using it (I based my review on the Neapolitan Riviera which I have travelled through).

Very detailed road trip travel book
The Road Trips of Italy book has a fold out map on the inside of the fist page listing the the places to visit. The introduction section tells you all about Italian do’s and don’ts when travelling through the country. I like the fact that it tells you the best time to travel and places visit and eat along the route. It is very detailed book on the best places to go to and to get the best out of your trip.

Really useful , with detailed route description and attractive images
I've always wanted to visit Italy. I jumped at the chance to review this book. I've visited The Amalfi coast on holiday and did a short road trip around the area, this book gives detailed description of routes and places of note to visit, with attractive images for each place of interest. If you are planning a driving holiday , this is perfect. It would also make an ideal gift . I would recommend this, it's full of interesting information about each area whether you're planning a trip or not, I was shocked how long I had been flicking through the book , i was so engrossed.
