I love this series. There's just something unforgettable about it. I read a lot. It takes quite a story for me to remember and stay locked in until the next book. This has it in spades.Let's break it down. The first 80% of the book was good and I loved it, but most of it is what I consider "filler." I still love it, but it is mostly about navigating life in the SDMC compound. It's important because it builds the story by way of its relationships. After all that's why we read, right?! The character growth and depth of the story happen one word at a time.The minute they journey to a new place... that's the danger in this world. Outside the safety of home, danger lurks.I really want to applaud Crystal Ash for not leaving us hanging on a life or death cliffhanger with one of the lead characters. She trusts us to continue reading without that lure. I really appreciate that. It's refreshing.I do like the little lure at the end she did leave us with... because it doesn't leave us feeling incomplete or overwhelmed by not having the next book. It does set us up to think about what's really going on in their world though.Now spoilers and speculation BELOW................Mariposa - medic and FMC... I love her. Her background isn't tragic and she is open minded. Her strength lies in her ability to give others a choice and in her compassion.Reaper - SDMC President, first in Mari's harem. His bond with Hades is the opposite of what it appears. He is rough around the edges but does a lot of it to keep everyone safe.Jandro - SDMC VP and second member of Mari's harem. He is the loyal friend and caregiver to SDMC. He is a mechanic and raises chickens. He lives with Shadow and regrets having to lock him in at night.Gunnar - sergeant at arms, third harem potential, bond with Horus, went willing with Mari when captured, and hesitant about sharing though I think he's in love with Mari.Shadow - PTSD, nightmares, probably will be the 4th harem member, can see in dark with his blinded eye thanks to a different bird (not Horus), crazy strong, perfect aim, also has strong feelings for Mari, is thinking about her a lot, and is coming to trust her.Freya - kitten!So now we have three gods - Horus, Hades, and Freya. There are probably more put there in the world. I wonder why they are Norse, Greek, and Egyptian. But Freya and Hades are gods of war and death. Horus is god of life in one way but in death he is Osiris. So does that mean something? Probably. I may need to look some of this up... lol.I can't wait for the next book!

I literally can’t put these down. I physically can’t make myself stop reading them. It’s been 2 days and I’m already about to start book 4. There’s just so many elements that play a part and each secret leads to more. Each character holds so much depth that I’m eager to keep reading just to find out what else they could be hiding. And then there’s the surprise that’s been hinted at the last 2 books and it makes it’s appearance here, which adds a whole new element that I can’t wrap my head around. It’s intoxicating to be sucked into a story this way, and it reminds me just why I love reading in the first place.

This series is taking me for a ride! I didn't know where this one was going to go, but I love that part about it. We don't know too much about the US after the Collapse, but we keep getting more and more snippets as the series moves along.This book was pretty packed with action and it was also steeeeeeamy! Shew... 🥵🥵🥵 I love Mariposa! She's amazing. She has morals being a healer, but as she settles into the Steel Demons life, she realizes some things just have to happen. She is perfect for Reaper and Jandro, but definitely ready for Gunner to pull his head out of his rear. (🤞🏻 for soon!)I love that Shadow is coming around to Mari as well. I think that it helps that she understands his PTSD. She always takes in account that when speaking with him and always gives him a choice.The last bit of the book, I was on edge. I was so heartbroken and hopefully this will be a turning point for someone. I also love Hades and Horus and the connection they have with each other and their counterparts. There is some mystery to them and I hope we find out more about them in the upcoming books.I cannot wait to see what else this series brings!

Only 3 books into this series and I can't put them down!!! Mari and her men have set a desired story line with twists and turns. Secrets are slowly being revealed and unexpected turns seem to be approaching. Great reads. I dont want to spoil it.

Okay so I read the first book and I didn’t really like it - it was okay. I read the second book and I was like yeah I tink I’m done. There are some parts here it feels like a misogynistic man is writing this from a feminist woman’s perspective and not just the overt sexism of the dystopian future but still I can forgive this because it would make more sense that in a world like this, even the forward thinking isn’t that forward thinking. Anyway! I have been striking out with reverse harems recently, I haven’t finished maybe the last ten I started. But when I put this book down, I realized I kind of missed it? So here we are, I’m back in it. Miss Ash has totally won me over and I can’t wait to see what happens with Shadow. Mari is sometimes infuriating but I am actually really beginning to dig this FMC that isn’t acting way over the top badass, ego trip nightmare. She is more nurturing and sweet than your typical strong fmc but still strong in her own way.

Just keeps getting better and better! I'm glad the storyline was laid out so well in book 1. Great job on the action!

Oh wow this book was just soooooo gooooodd there are no words to describe it!!! I love Mari and her men. I love how her relationship with them has grown and developed. I love that she’s Reaper and Jandro are finally finding their pace, and that she’s slowly helping Shadow through his pain and trauma. And I love how things progressed with Gunner.Crystal Ash has woven an amazing tale and this book is just as good as the other two, I’m desperate for the next one and I’m really looking forward to reading it.

The story is just getting better and better. It’s just so unknown, I don’t know where it’s taking me in this ride but I am totally here for it.I’ve turned into an addict. I need continuous words from this world, it’s never enough. In one sense I am kicking myself for not reading before now, in another, I’m glad. Because it means I can literally just carry them on.I love the multiple POV aspect going on here, not one of the guys is the same, yet the are al drawn to Mari without knowing why. What is it about her? What is it about the animals with the guys. Just.. what is it in general?I have no idea where the next book is taking us but I am going straight into it to find out.

Wow things are progressing nicely, well written the writer keeps you hooked with plenty of action and drama. The steam is also increasing a smoke ty of romance. What I think I love most is although it’s a MC gang, they are not as needlessly violent as others that I have read. Now, it’s not all fluffy and soft but the right mix of dangerous and loving. I am so excited to read the next book!

Pretty good. Still enjoying the series in general. the RH Romance is less interesting than the main story. I wish We had a little more of that. Characters are pretty interesting and likable.

I'm absolutely loving this series, devouring them at a steady pace. MC is my favourite genre and this is made all the better with it being RH too. Love Mari and I'm loving all of the male leads. Can't wait to read more!!
