First use of a Bluetooth - Jackpot!
In preparation for a 1 month, 4000 mile motorcycle trip I thought I would try a Bluetooth system in conjunction with my new iPhone 13. Without a doubt, this combination has greatly changed - for the good - my motorcycling experience; it’s also made my wife happy since I am now accessible to her while I’m driving.I recall reading a few reviews stating the installation took them maybe 30 minutes. That was not my experience at all, I would say it took me at least two hours. Perhaps I’m more anal than some, but I wanted to get it right. The audio is exceptional, as long as you enjoy treble more than bass (the treble brought clarity to whatever I listened to). In my experience, I was able to make & receive phone calls easily as well as listen to my Sirius XM radio stations or my portfolio of music. As others have mentioned, the 4 buttons which require various combinations of actuation are a bit confusing, but only because the process is new. A couple more weeks of this process and I will have them down pat.As for the battery, not only does it charge very fast, I have yet to run out of battery power although I have had days in excess of eight or nine hours of use.BTW, for those of you who are wondering, and it should be many of you, how bad was the wind noise? I personally wear a full shell, HJC helmet, which is on the low end of price points of helmets. Though the wind noise usually seems fairly loud, I was shocked at the clarity of the audio the first time I received a phone call. I inquired of my caller and was told they could hear me perfectly, almost like I was just calling from the backseat of their car. As for talk shows and music, almost always I could hear in such a way as to have full understanding of what was being said or sung.Prior to my purchase of the Cardo Bluetooth, I studied and studied and studied other Bluetooth systems. Thus far, with over two weeks and nearly 2500 miles of driving, I am 100% satisfied with the Cardo system

Best lower end helmet communicator
This is the second set of these I have ordered from Amazon. First set needed replaced after one of them fell off helmet and got ran over (my fault), but still worked for another 2 yrs until being caught in a monsoon. The other one still works fine, but wanted a matched/paired set. Thats when I bought another pair of them. For the money my wife and I cant live without them (It took 2 days not having them to realize it). These work flawlessly for what we use them for, my wife and I have separate bikes and these are a must. Yes the speakers are not hat great, but can be upgraded fairly cheap. I bought the IASUS XSound 2.1 helmet speakers and we are highly satisfied with the sound. I recommend these to everyone. Yes they make better ones with more features and able to pair with more riders, with better sounding speakers, but the Freecom 2 Plus does eveything I need them to do at a very good price. They are simple to use and the battery lasts a very long time, I cant ask for anything better for the price. I am HIGHLY SATISFIED, thanks Amazon for the best price!!

Music almost inaudible at highway speeds with earplugs in
It's a cool concept for a product. I haven't tried it yet for taking calls while out on the road, so I can't speak to this feature. However, one of the main things I got this freecom 4+ is its JBL speakers for playing music while riding. With earplugs in, going along at highway speeds, the only music I can make out is a faint trace or outline of the song. Just barely loud enough that you can follow along to the song only if you already know the song really well. Otherwise, it gets drowned out pretty easily. I have it turned up all the way to maximum (even disabled automatic volume adjustment through the app). I've read from other reviews that some people say this is due to poor placement of the speakers within the helmet. However, I have an AGV K3 (or K1 - can't recall exactly). This is one of the most popular, most common helmets on the market. It has cutouts around the ear area specifically to fit speakers such as this one. I cannot place a speaker outside of this cutout as there is no appropriate surface area to do so, nor enough clearance between the helmet and my head. Therefore, there is no other possible placement option (unless someone can point me in the right direction) for these speakers.Overall, pretty disappointed with these units. I wouldn't have forked out nearly $300 for an *upgraded* speaker version that I can barely hear. When I'm in town traffic and not battling the wind, it is pretty clear. The quality of the audio during slow traffic is pretty nice. Just disappointed it doesn't allow you to dial up the volume beyond a relatively quiet maximum.
