Q: Just received this pentax d fa 70-200 2.8ed dc aw thru amazon, via "the camera box". no papers in the box. shouldn't there be a warranty card, manual?

Q: Can you shoot wide angle landscape photos with this lens?

Hi, I would say, it depends on what body you are using. I have this lens currently on K-3 (K5) and due to its APS sixe sensor it becomes a 36 mm on its low end. That is quite far from wide angle. I have the new K-1 on the way. On this body it will be a true 24mm. That I would say can be used for landscape phpto. (Still, not really true wide angle, but usable). cheers / MH

Q: Is it compatiple with the new Pentax K1?

Yes. It is part of the release of several new zoom lenses by Ricoh (Pentax) intended especially for the forthcoming K1. In particular, it provides full coverage for the Full Frame sensor that is on the K1. Of course, it is also compatible with all of the other recent K-mount Pentax cameras, such as the K01, K3, K5, and so on. It works very well on my K5 IIs, and I look forward to using it on the K1 when that camera becomes available in April

Q: Will this perform on a medium format pentax?

The mounts and connections for the Pentax 645 (medium format) and the Full-frame K-mount system are different. While there is an adapter that will allow the medium format lenses to be used on a K-mount camera (with some limitations). Unfortunately it doesn't work the other direction.
