That's EXACTLY what this pan was made for [one egg at a time, sandwich or not]. A fried egg will fit perfect on normal sliced white bread, or slightly overlap an English muffin. It's also the perfect size for a "normal" sized hamburger. Top, edge to edge is 5", cooking surface is 4 1/2". BTW, if you DO get it and cook an egg, put a little butter in the pan first and use low heat....egg will slide right out...Oh, if you trim bread to fit, makes a GREAT grilled cheese as well...I LOVE this pan!!!

What is the size of this pan?

This pan is really small, even though it looks larger in some pics. I wish I had bought one a couple inches larger in diameter.

Mine scratched and I followed all the instructions.

Company instructions states the pan is safe for nylon wood and metal. If I see any scratches and it looks like junk I’ll send it back
