Trusting Skylar (Silverstone Book 1)

Amazing first instalment of the new series. I loved it. Have been desperate to read it after the little nods to the new team in previous series.Susan always gives her fans what they want, sexy alpha male with a sensitive side, a feisty heroine and a HEA with a bit of action/drama thrown in the middle.If you haven’t read Susan before then what are you wasting for???

I have enjoyed reading this first book in a new series of Silverstone. I was so engrossed in reading it that I had to finish reading it before I could put it down, I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I would recommend it to anyone who likes to read about different story's., and different groups of people who keeps law and order and dishes out their brand of justice.

Loved it. Love Susan. And a great start to a great new series. Cannot wait for the other characters books. Loved Bull/Carson from the get go, and how his brothers have his back. Skylar is great too and it was interesting to see her inner dialogue as she dealt with everything. And the shout-out to the mercenary series? Amazing. Bravo. Cannot wait for next one.

Bull ,Eagle , Smoke and Gramps were four friend who were in the Delta Force “the best of the best “obviously not their real names ,but these names were given as a clue to their special abilities . Eagle whose real name Kellan has the ability to recognise anyone after a first glance . Smoke (whose real name Mark )can get in and out of situations undetected and has the ability to disappear like in a puff of smoke . Gramps whose real name Leonardo he’s the eldest out of the four ,and Bull whose real name is Carson is called that as he’s an excellent shot hen always hits bulls eye !! . The four Delta Force team guys work well, and on a recent assignment in Pakistan where they’ve been sent to take out another evil criminal , when they actually get in to the compound there’s another criminal who’s also on the Most wanted list there so our fantastic four decide to remove him permanently as well from the world . When they get back home the four men are shocked to find that their bosses are not happy that they took it upon themselves to take out the second guy and basically now they are going to split them up as they're no longer to be assigned to the Delta Force . Feeling hard done by they’re approached by someone from the FBI who makes them an offer they can’t refuse ,as they’ll be doing what they basically have been doing in Delta Force ,but if things go not as planned then they’ll be completely on their own ,it’s a no brainier and the boys set up a business called Silverstone . On the outside it’s a tow truck company but it’s also the HQ for their secret black Ops . Five years on and business on both side is going well , only just returned from a covert op Bull is there when a call comes in he says he’ll take it and it leads him to a damsel in distress. Skylar Reid is a kindergarten teacher driving home from school when her car brakes down , what she doesn’t realise is that the guy on his way to her is about to rock her world . Bull quickly takes charge of the situation ,quite unexpectedly though It’s an instant attraction on both sides . Soon Bull & Skylar are talking on the phone at every opportunity, and it’s not long before Carson takes her on a first date . As they got to know one another he finds out what an extraordinary teacher Skylar was, she loved her all pupils and went above and beyond what was necessary . Skylar would Stay behind every day at the after school care club and wait until the last child was picked up . Sandra was the five year old who’s father worked three jobs to keep a roof over their heads and was late most days picking Sandra up but Skylar didn’t mind . At the back of Bulls mind is how will she react when she finds out what he really does for a living !!!! The story progresses at a fare pace obviously as this is the first one in the series there’s quite a bit of back story to be told first ,first and foremost it’s a love story between two unlikely characters , with a fare bit of drama towards the end we ask ourselves do our unlikely pair have a HEA ? ............. I think we can guess 😉❤️ .......I’m sure we’ll be hearing more of Carson/ Skylar in the following books in this series 😉❤️❤️

If you're a fan then read as you know there's a good story here. If not then try you may have a new author to read.Why the same.... Well HEA. The backstory is now set, we know the family group now it's time to expand.Different because government but not, moral but not, broken but not.Good first impression will have to see were it goes.If nothing else it's a good way to shut down your brain for a few hours.

Super book to begin a new series by Susan Stoker. Thoroughly enjoyed the plot . Loved the characters and can't wait to follow them and watch how they develop in future books of this series.

It’s always a flag waving event when a new SS series is launched. She rarely (if ever!) misses the mark and you know you are in for an exciting ride that will leave you begging for the next in the series.This book hits the mark, amazing in its world building you are immediately drawn into both a backstory that gives credence to the characters and explains some of their unique individual facets, and a current up to date state of play that gives them an obvious platform to continue doing what they do best.The world of Silverstone is deep with roadside recovery at the front, level 10 baddie destroying at the back and a lot of being honest to goodness nice people in the middle.Bull leads the team and is super confident, happy in his life and satisfied with the work he does (both front of house and in the dark)He meets Skylar after rescuing her after her card breaks down and immediately falls for her and wants to meet her again.Skylar is slow to trust and struggles to understand why he feels this for her but eventually he wins her over with his persistence, caring and demonstrations of his adoration.I thought the romance elements of this book were really well written and whilst SS never makes romance easy, and the characters have to work for their HEA, you know they will eventually get there. The unknown element with SS is always what peril, pain and discord will be introduced in her stories and this book is no different.SS lays such a strong trail for breadcrumbs in this story you will have yourself convinced you know where it’s going before there is a sudden derailing of the train into an absolute terrifying crash you didn’t see coming...so unexpected yet ultimately satisfying in the end.Another amazing read

I loved this book. As usual Ms Stoker brings us a good read. I liked all the characters and the story was a bit different.The start of a good series.
