I sell on Facebook Marketplace and never even thought about the possibility of receiving counterfeit bills until a nice customer showed me how to check a bill by holding it up to light to see the strip of text that shows the denomination of the bill. They told me sometimes people would remove everything except the holographic elements, then print a new bill overtop, so you have to check what number it says to be safe. That said, these pens add an extra level of peace of mind for me on top of that.I never previously knew that bills were UV reactive and using this light almost feels like a magic trick. You could show this off to people at a bar and I bet it would be well-received. I showed my friends when I bought this and none of them knew about the UV-reactive strips. Every bill except 1s seems to have one, all different colors. The yellow in 50s are especially bright and the blue for 5s is very pretty. Overall, great product!

Easy to use, light works perfectly and they last a lot too, would buy again

Seems to do what it says. Of course I haven’t tested on fake money lol.

We bought these to check cash for a sectional we were selling. Step 1 you drag the marker across the bill onto a clean sheet of paper and you can clearly see the marker color indicates real money per the directions. Step 2 you shine the light onto the bill and can clearly see the embedded stripe. I'd give it five stars if it came with an explanation of where to look for the stripes and what color they are on common US currency. Forgers have bleached off the denomination, for example bleaching one off and making it twenty, and to catch this you need to know where the stripes are supposed to be. I found an explanation of currency security on-line and printed it. Keep in mind that your printer is likely going to print a stripe color that is a bit off so remember what it looked like on-line.

I've been buying these for a while.... they've always arrived on time and have had no complaints on dry pens. The light comes in handy for more accurate testing.

I don't have anything bad to say. It does the job. I am not good at checking bills with my bare eye so when I handle bills I use this to check that it is not counterfeit. So far so good =) Haven't seen a dark mark yet, hopefully it is because it's working well and it is a real bill, and not because the pen is a scam lol =D
