I owned this lens on my old Canon EF system and I was on the hunt for a decently priced version for my Nikon system after I switched. For some reason, the Nikon version is only offered for sale by scalpers on Amazon, for almost double the price of its Canon counterpart. Going back to the lens, it has gorgeous build quality, it looks beautiful on any body, and it offers a superb cinematic look like no other lens I've tested in its price category. Ideal for both photography and videography with a look and character to die for!While this lens has electronic contacts that communicate EXIF data to your body, beware that it's manual focus only with limited throw, and; therefore, requires some practice for precision focus when the aperture is wide-open.Highly recommended!

It’s Zeiss. A time-tested brandname. Manual focus, full frame, metal body, extremely well optimised (Milvus ZE is even better) lens. Planer design is more towards softer side compared to extremely sharp Sonnar.

Extraordinario, no defrauda. Buena comunicación con la cámara Canon para control de apertura de diafragma. Robustez de construcción de gama Prime Lenses. No apta para fotógrafos que necesiten auto enfoque ya que solo es manual. Pero para cine, una maravilla!!. Impresionante la velocidad de envio. Menos de 24h (no daba crédito!!). Solamente una nota negativa: en máxima apertura no tiene la nitidez que uno espera de la marca. Incluso más difuso que el canon 50mm 1.8 STM en maxima apertura diafragmatica (los he comparado). Así que hay que irse a 2.0-2.8 para disfrutar al máximo de su nitidez.

Absolutely one of the best quality lens on the market today. I love it.However,I do wish it had an auto focus feature but no Zeiss lenses do
