Fantastic Intake to wake up your sleepy 2GR Engine!
I've used AFE products in the past for other vehicles and been pleased with the result, so when it came time to tinker with my Tacoma, I went right back to AFE! I'll be honest, I didn't like the price, but I'm glad I bit the bullet and got this intake. The fit and finish of this intake are fantastic. The components are made of a much more sturdy composite than the OEM intake they replaced. I paired my intake with the Momentum GT Dynamic Air Scoop (Part # 54-76005-S) to complete the package.Yes, you can feel a difference in power. Almost 20 HP at the wheels on a dyno pull is something you can feel driving around. If you look at the dyno chart (not mine, this is from AFE), sure you'll see gains across the board and that's nice if you tach out your truck constantly. But what I enjoy most is that new little peak around 2,500 rpm that conveniently aligns with driving about 70 mph on the highway in 6th gear in a manual transmission Tacoma. Is it loud? The answer is it depends. When you get on the throttle, yeah it gets loud especially as you get up in the tach. But it sounds good! However, if you are just cruising along, you really can't tell there's an aftermarket intake at all. Extra power & no drone is a winning combination.

Great product. Read review for details.
Installed in under an hour with basic hand tools. No MAF codes or other various issues like with other CAI systems. Absolutely lovely packing, not that this may matter to everyone, but I really love when you buy a good quality product and the company takes the time to design a good box and inspects each component before it ships out their doors. 2018 Tacoma TRD Sport 6 Speed Manual with the 3.5l. Love the sound at 4-5k, paired with a aFe cat back system it sounds extremely close to the V8 that is in the Tundra. A little pricey compaired to others, but the fitment is just gorgeous. Would absolutely recommend to anyone debating on pulling the trigger with this order. In my opinion it's worth every penny.

Overpriced Noise Maker
This does absolutely nothing. Ran it for a month with the AFE Silver Bullet TB spacer and saw absolutely no improvement other than making my engine louder. I want sound coming out of my exhaust, not my front grill. Took off and returned it. Spend your money on a proper tune if you want to see an improvement in fuel economy and torque.

Missing screw
Missing a screw which mounts the MAF onto new intake. Many hoops to jump through in order to have them send another, not worth the time. Everthing else is/was great

I’d buy it again
Engine sounds stronger and noticeably different around 4K rpm.. feels like there is more power around the same rpm as well, but I highly doubt the claim of 29hp, even with the scoop which I purchased separately. Warning for those of you that have cold winters.. the truck sounds like it is struggling during startup.. although it does start right up

Fits nicely on a 3rd gen Tacoma
Didn't really notice a difference in power but what I do like, you can just wash it out with a water hose and let dry in the sun, then reinstall.
