All manner of thoughts when faced with peril
As a reader, I can say that I felt every fear, longing and despair of these men faced with probable demise at sea.

An excellent first person account. Very well written.

A beautiful jewel.
No words or descriptions wasted. Crane’s spare observations provide the reader with enough space to mentally process life and death moments. His silences give one room to sigh.

A worthless print-on-demand of a public domain book
The sanserif font is not chosen for readability, it's laid out double-spaced like your high school term papers, and on page 25 there's the title page of an entirely different publication about physics. In short, this is a very amateurish publication. If all you want is to read the public domain book "The Open Boat" by Stephen Crane, find a PDF online and download it for free. Save yourself the $5 this seller requires. If you want the usual benefits of a good printing by a qualified publisher, benefits such as a readable layout and contextual and background information, choose a real publisher such as Penguin Classics, or even Dover.Don't pay for a book the US Government has made free to you in the public domain.
