A little better than expected and exactly what I was aiming for
I bought these to hold kebobs under my broiler so that have have little height over a drip tray. They are perfect size to use in even my smaller Breville counter top oven. They have plenty of weight to securely hold skewers loaded with meat and allow you to turn the skewers without the shifting all out place or tipping over. The nitches pinch down in to a small notch that actually locks my small skinny metal skewers in place and prevents unwanted turning...even with bulk if weight above center of gravity.Granted, it's a simple device, but it's made well, made right and made of good material. Nothing cheap about it except the price imo. Well worth the small investment.

Thick & Solid. Likely 430 SS. Wish It Were W---I---D---E---R w/Square Notches. VG, But Better IF...
Purchased on 04-17-2024 for $9.99.This is formed from heavy stainless steel sheet metal; it's about 1.5 mm thick. It's good and solid. There's no bending this with just bare hands...unless you're He-Man.The manufacturer doesn't specify which grade stainless steel this is. I will *assume* that it's 'food grade.' It is magnetic, so my guess is that it's 430. (Higher grade 304 is NON-magnetic.)Each rack weighs just under 9.5 ounces (@ 268 grams). They're heavy enough that they won't tip too easily. The height is 1 15/16” to the top edge. The notches are about 1/4" deep.Generally, I'm pleased with the racks.I haven't used them yet so I do have one question, however. How will these handle the high heat? Will they deform and warp? Hadn't noticed any complaints in the reviews about warpage, so they're probably fine. I'll update if they do warp. The one *problem* that I do foresee is that because the rack is almost 2" high, if you're grilling things that are not thick and chunky, you'll be slow-cooking them because of how far they are from the heat source (flame or coal). If it's a charcoal grill, you could add more briquettes to bring the coal bed closer to the grate/rack, but you end up with a lot of *wasted* coals. You don't want your food burnt and blackened, but you do want some searing. The lower temperature cooking could lead to higher loss of moisture, too.My wishlist to make these better:- Wider. It's only 10" wide. 14" to 16" would be much better.- Wider base for better stability and prevent edge from falling/tipping in between grate bars.- Square notches. The tapered, funnel shaped profile is okay, but square notches would be better for both needle-type and blade-type skewers.- More notches. Option to vary spread between skewers. Ability to drop each prong of a double-prong skewer in separate notches.- Not sure what, but something to minimize the racks from skating on the grate. Maybe grooves, notches, clips, ???...
