I like that it warns the dog with a beep 3 times before it shocks them. They learn that they have to stop barking, instead of teaching them they can't bark at all. It has sensitivity levels that you can change which is great. I have one dog that consistently whines, so I do set his a little more sensitive. I would avoid buying it unless you get a warranty as mine is garbage now. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Adjustable Shock Level *by M***C on June 26, 2016* I ordered this collar because I was in trouble with the neighbors, they were calling in complaints about my dog. If you get too many complaints against your animals, they make you get rid of them. The collar comes with directions but for some reason I couldn't figure out the tester and had to look that up on their website. They also give you an extra battery which is nice. I don't have any intention to leave this collar on my dog for the next 6 months, just until she can learn some new habits. So this is how it works. This collar senses the vibration of you dogs bark and it beeps. If the barking continues in that 30 seconds it will beep again. If they don't get the hint and keep barking another 30 seconds it makes another beep and gives the dog a shock. If they still don't stop barking the collar with give them a longer beep and a shock for every bark, up to one minute of bark/shock. The collar automatically resets after that. It sounds harsh but you can adjust the level of the shock and I had mine on minimum. She is learning that she should keep her barks to herself. It's been a week and life on the block is a lot quieter. The collar is adjustable for different size dogs and whether they have long or short hair. It is effective and if you need to teach your dog not to bark, this is the collar for you. I didn't leave this on my dog unattended, just in case something went wrong and I did shock myself first to know exactly it felt like.
