Misleading features
This product is poorly designed and has limitations they don’t mention in the description. The usb-c “single cable solution for data, video and charging” limits the data to usb 2 speeds and that is shared with the Ethernet port. In order to get usb3 and gigabit Ethernet you either need to drop the refresh rate to 30hz (yuck) reduce the resolution to 1080p (double yuck) or run display port for video, usb b downstream for data, and still provide power to your laptop separately, which is not possible on a laptop with only 2 usb-c ports like a MacBook Air or 13” pro with only 2 ports unless you connect another hub in between. As well the only 2 ports are on the side, which is ok for connecting temporary devices like memory sticks but ugly for permanent connections like mouse/keyboards, external drives, as they hang of the side of the screen.Picture quality is mediocre as well. The “Mac mode” is garish and overly sharp, even with the sharpness turned all the way down, movie mode is better but has a purplish tint. It’s also matte, and depending on your taste this may be good but overall it felt like a considerable step down from the built in display on my MacBook for image quality.Speakers are a joke, like the PC speaker from an 80s “IBM comparable” that lacked a sound card.Save your money and look elsewhere.

Excellent Value
I usually dont write reviews, but this one needs special mention. The stand itself is such a glorious one. Easily worth 6k by itself. The monitor is excellent. I have a benQ eyecare and have this side by side a 27inch and the view sonic is the better one by miles ahead. Easily worth 15k+ in my opinion1. USB C to C, USB B to A, 2 power cables (15A head size)2. 5 star power efficiency3. Remarkable packing!4. The gorgeous metal stand. Eye candy!5. The solid display!!!6. USB ports on the monitor!7. USB C port replaces 2 cables, it can charge my laptop and also serve as the cable to transfer the display to my external monitor. I dont have to use a seperate charger for the laptop and the HDMI cable. Neat!

A good, solid all-rounder
As someone who teaches from home and having had to downsize from my dual 27in Viewsonic monitors, this made its way to the top of the list. I really liked the idea of having a single cable from my laptop to charge it and carry the video/USB signal, and a DisplayPort in (and out) means I can have a lead from my desktop PC to the monitor too.Easy to unbox and assemble, laptop plugged in, and voila! A charging laptop with video/audio out 🙂 Then ran a DisplayPort cable from my PC to the monitor - the monitor takes its signal from whichever device is switched on first, but it's a couple of taps through the on-screen menus to switch over if needed. If there were any quibbles, and I'm being very picky here, it's that the built-in speakers are a bit tinny, but for the very little use they'll get (I usually wear a headset when teaching and gaming), then they're more than sufficient. As an instructor, a second monitor is always preferred, so I'll either get another one of these or the VG2455 when they hit a price I'm happy with.Definitely recommended.
