- Caterpillar 777D Off Highway Truck Core Classics Series Vehicle

I have a huge collection of Diecast Masters vehicles. Both 1/87 and 1/50 scale. I have yet to be disappointed with any of the “Replicas” The weight and detail is very impressive.

This was purchased as a gift for my dad, who works for a concrete company. He does the software and IT for all of their quarries, equipment and fleet, so he's around these guys whenever he's not in his office. When he is in the office, he wanted some of these models to brighten it up. He says this series of die-casts are so nice you'd think they shrank real trucks. From my non expert view (without opening the box), the quality is gorgeous. There's no sloppy paint or flood fill details. They're not really meant for kids toys, although I think they'd hold up to respectfully careful play. As a toy I don't think I'd pay the price. As a collector's item, I think it's well worth it.
