Great Translation
My son was 8 when I bought this for him and it seems an appropriate reading level for him. I personally love reading this for my own devotions. I almost wish it wasn’t called a “children’s” Bible as I think it sheds a lot of light on the meaning of the text for adults as well. Of course for scholarly Bible study I still compare several translations. But if I only had access to one translation this is not a bad pick.I love the faux leather cover. It seems more mature so I think my son can use it for years without feeling like he has a little kids Bible. The inside pictures are cartoon like and great for children to help visualize various stories. It even contains a few maps in the back much like adult Bible versions. It contains a dictionary in the back for some of the more unfamiliar words. While it doesn’t have a full concordance, it does have a section titled “Where Do I Find It?” Withe various names and stories. Additionally there is a small section on God’s promises that has key verses addressing common topics such as faith, happiness, obedience, wisdom, etc.Over all I think this is a great Bible for third graders and adults alike.

The Best Blend of Readability and Biblical Fidelity I Could Find for Young Readers
I am a pastor and was looking for Bibles to give to some of our younger kids when they get baptized. In particular, I recently baptized a 2nd grader and 3rd grader and wanted a Bible they can grow with. They're old enough for a real Bible instead of a Bible story book or shortened children's Bible, but their reading level isn't advanced enough for the ESV, NIV, etc. I was unfamiliar with this International Children's Bible but came across it at a local Christian bookstore, and it turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. The language is simple enough for a young reader, but does a good job of retaining the meaning of the text. Obviously it is not as literal a translation as some others, a necessity for making it accessible to early readers, but I found it to be the best blend of readability and fidelity to the original meaning as I could find. This particular Bible looks nice too with it's two-tone faux leather cover, but it's the translation that really sold me. I look forward to giving these to our new young Christians and hope for many opportunities to share them.

It has a beautiful cover that looks even better in person
Such a lovely bible. My child loves it. The whole family does. It has a beautiful cover that looks even better in person. Leathersoft is not real leather, but this is really nice and feels so smooth and soft. It's cool to discover that there are leather like covers that look and feel so supple, imo.I only have two little criticisms: I wish it had a little ribbon in the spine that you can use to keep your place like some other bibles have. And I wish the sentences had a little more spacing between them because my child seems to lose his place from time to time, maybe because the lines are too close.I would buy this again and may do so for gifts. This is also a very good bible for anyone, not just children. I really think everyone should have this bible version in their home. I love having access to a bible that is so easy too read but not dumbed down. The words are still beautiful to read, with the meaning and context intact.

Wonderful bible for all ages! Stunning!
Wow! I absolutely LOVE this bible! It is the cutest book and the quality is just stunning! The pages are sleek and feel so good to the touch. It is written for younger minds to understand the bible easier, but adults can read this too! It's not "babyish" at all! I actually bought it for myself and I'm a grown adult! I love the way it's written and the artwork throughout the book is just adorable! Awesome book! I couldn't put it down! Now maybe I'll actually be able to read the whole bible and understand all that I'm reading! I highly recommend this for both children and adults! Bravo to all the souls who worked so hard to put this treasure together! God bless you all!

Love this version easy to read great price
I absolutely love this version of the Bible. From a Sunday school teacher who teaches four years old to 5th graders I love how I can just read the Bible and not have to explain biblical words to them I could just read the scripture and they can understand what we're reading and that allows them to really apply the words to their lives. Even as an adult I enjoy reading this version because it allows me to just read through it and not have to stop and really think about what the scriptures are saying. If you're looking for a good Bible I'd say don't hesitate just buy it

Must Buy!
I absolutely love this Bible! It’s an easy to read and comprehend purchase this Bible first before purchasing others. I did purchase the NIV kids adventure Bible but it’s still hard to comprehend for young children. Sunday school teacher even mentioned how much she liked my child’s Bible do to how easy it is for kids to read/comprehend. If you are worried about it looking kidish for older kids just get a Bible cover. That’s what I ended up doing.

Grandma knows best
As a Grandma with precious little ones always around, I was hoping to still be able to find a real Bible for children, similar to the one my children used, and I found it! The International Children's Bible is a real translation (not paraphrase), written at a 3rd grade level, able to be understood by all (the way I believe God wanted His word to be). the BONUS? I loved that it had a leathersoft cover, with a cross, so that it would look like the ones he sees at our home. He LOVED it, and adding the Books of the Bible tabs made it extra special to my grandson on his 7th birthday. Very happy with this purchase!
