Boat and RV Repair Kit (Grady-White white)

This is an excellent product for gel coat repairs. I found I had to add almost twice the suggested amount of hardener for proper curing. I was doing a fairly large repair on my fiberglass travel trailer, a deep scratch about 15 inches long. By mixing equal portions of this item with the "pure white" resin I was able to get a match to the color of the original gel coat. As I expected, I had to use a lot more than the supplied sandpaper to repair my damage but the results were very satisfactory. See the 'before' and 'after photos.

The item was very easy to use however i wish they had a color chart showing the difference between colors when it is dry. The white i ordered shows a light gray. It also did not show my model boat on the list. The Gel works good when mixing and easy to do just make sure you get the right color white you need. Get bright white for hydro sport bostd

I followed the instructions closely and used roughly 5 drops (instructions said 4-6) and the gelcoat mix did not harden fully. On the plus side, the mix was a perfect color match.I am debating whether to leave it "as is." It fills the gelcoat gouge but the surface is too tacky to be sanded.Mfg should either revise their formula or fix their instructions. A lot of wasted time. (ps I have done a lot of auto body work with bondo so I doubt this is my problem!!!).

This product is at least as easy to use as other similar brands, the color is pre-mixed to match your boat, which I consider a big plus, others may want to custom blend a color, but the big deal is great customer service!

It shrinks when drying so you may need to put on a second layer.

I love the product but unfortunately the color chaparral white is definitely not white. I should have gone with plain white vs this and half the price. I would not recommend for 2006 chaparral boats. Try the plain white and see if is better.

Perfect white for a Boston Whaler. The gel coat was fine but you will need to buy wet sand paper (800 and 120) and acetone. I also use a tongue depressor vs a popsicle stick. They call it a kit but the supplies are not adequate.
