Great read
Great addition to my PNW book collection. However, I will say that the cover design is somewhat misleading in the sense that it seems to imply that the stories are from the "Wild West Era" (1860's-1880's). Most of the accounts are from the 1890's to 1920's...and the events mostly centered around the Puget Sound region (which would make sense given sparse population density in most other regions at the time). It would be cool if the author would come out with a second edition; there are plenty more crooks left in Washington's history (or for that matter, in the present...especially in Olympia).

Especially interesting since we are from Washington.

It's OK, I guess
It's true the stories are about "criminals" from Washington State, but the execution of the book is a bit bland. There just aren't enough details for the stories not to all run together in a gray mishmash. Entertaining, but only readable a little bit at a time.

Descent stories but very few pictures
Most of the stories are either ones everyone already knows (Tornow, Home anarchist colony, etc.) or are kind of all the same. Bad guy holds up some banks, stores, stagecoaches, etc., runs from the lawmen or posse trying to catch him, gunfight ensues, bad guy dies or escapes, in which case the cycle repeats. Interesting historical stories, but far too similar in nature to keep my interest for long.

Bad guys everywhere
I love crime and dective shows and reading about these guys in my home state makes it really interesting. The stories hold you interest to the end.
