Great Value
This Magictec brush works better than a flat iron in my opinion. It straightens larger sections of hair than a flat iron does so it really speeds things up. It heats up very quickly and glides fairly easily through my thick slightly wavy hair. You can rough dry your hair and then comb this brush through and have a salon worthy look. Remember that you have to have DRY hair for it to work best. Don't expect good results if you use it on damp hair. It does get very hot although I don't think it is possible to burn your scalp because of the way the bristles are constructed. I use it at 370 degrees but it can be adjusted higher if you have especially coarse hair. The price is great--there are some in the marketplace that cost well over a hundred dollars and they essentially do the same thing!

My hair isn't pin straight like using a flat iron, but it is soft and fluffy with body.
I was so excited to find this hairbrush straightener in hopes that it would cut down on the time it takes me to do my hair straight. I have curly, frizzy hair with deep waves in the top of my hair, especially in the back, and I have definitely dyed it more than I should. So my hair is very unruly most of the time. If I want to wear my hair straight it's a whole, all morning process- wash, condition, blow dry while constantly brushing, spray in a very small amount of heat protectant (so I don't fry my hair any worse), divide the hair into manageable sections, make sure to put on hair straightening glove (burning myself hurts and I've done it too many times already), and now I can begin to straighten using my double ceramic plates flat iron. Keep in mind that before I even choose to style my hair straight I check the weather for rain and humidity, because either of those will make it pointless to straighten my hair at all. --I'm trying to give you an exact idea of how unmanageable my hair is so that you can make a better decision about this product by comparing your routine to mine.-- After all that, I do finally end up with perfectly beautiful straight hair, all except for that little crease that comes with using a flat iron. Even though it looks great, that process can go on for 2, maybe 2 1/2 hours! So I wanted to find something that would cut my time down significantly. My straightener brush arrived super fast and it was just as the description said. It was in a magictec box with a single instruction paper inside. This brush is simple and easy to use. I like that it only has one button and the light-up digital screen is awesome. -I would have preferred the plug to have a safety reset button but it's just a regular plug. I do like the swivel cord though so it doesn't get tangled up.- The screen flashes while the brush is heating up. When it's reached the temperature you chose the screen will stop flashing and only display the temperature. The power/temp button is in a good place so I didn't have any accidental temp changes. For my hair I turned the temp all the way up to 430 degrees. My hair isn't super thick but since it's so frizzy and curly I needed the extra heat. The brush was warm but it was never hot enough to burn me, but my hair was extremely hot after running it through. So if you have sensitive hands then you may want to wear a glove. I tried brushing my hair in all different directions to see which worked best and only a couple times it snagged some tangles, but because I wanted to get the full affect of the brush, I didn't blow dry my hair. I let it air dry the night before, this way it would be really wavy and curly. I tend to have strands of hair shed all over any time i style my hair so I did have to keep pulling strands out of the brush. As far as quality, my hair wasn't pin straight and probably wouldn't hold well in the heat outside, but it was straight enough to be happy with if I'm in a hurry. Plus, it is much faster and so much better than having to blow dry it because it's easier. That's actually what my hair looks like, like I've had a good blow out. Remember how your hair felt when you were about 16 or 17? That's what it makes me think of, my hair is soft and has some body and fluff to it. At 30 my poor hair has been through the ringer. So it's a nice change from the flat iron because my hair isn't completely flat, but it's definitely not as straight either. This hairbrush straightener is a good extra tool to have but not as your everyday straightener if you have seriously unruly hair like mine. I will probably use this more in the winter months. I hope you find this helpful because it is a great buy.

Not Bad - Could Be Better
This is a pretty neat concept. It does work - your hair will be much straighter after using it than it was before you started. It just won't be super straight and it's not all that much faster than a flat iron because you have to make so many passes to really apply the heat to the hair. Also, I felt that my hair came out kind of dry when I used it, and not shiny like with the flat iron. Overall, if you just need something quick and dirty to give you a quick weekend look this is a good little tool. But I noticed that after a few days of playing with it, I switched back to my flat iron.

Doesn't do anything
Horrible product. I've had it for about 2 weeks and I can honestly say that it does not do anything. I have semi-wavy hair, so I bought this product hoping to straighten it more but it made my hair very frizzy and damaged it. I can straighten my hair with an iron in about 15 minutes, whereas this took almost 45 minutes and it was not even straight. Also, it doesn't last. Within 2 hours my hair was wavy again. I thought it may be the humidity but my iron would keep my hair straight, and it didn't give me massive hair fallout. This product isn't worth the price, and it's just a waste of your time. I don't know how anyone gave it a positive review.

4.5 and there's a reason why [AWESOME, but not perfect]
Let me start off with some information about my hair. So for those who have similar hair and questions I had before purchasing this, they can take a look at this review.Hair type: medium (I'm Asian, so my hair is more towards the straight and sometimes wavy) my hair is pretty damaged from bleaching it a while backHair length: mid-backWhy I wanted it: to get my "bed head" to a more decent look or on days where I want a fast relief from frizzy hairIn the actual world, I gave this product 4.5 stars. I honestly have to say, it does what it say it does. It straightens your hair and it does it FAST! I literally turn it on for less than 2 mins and I'm already using it. It straightens my hair within 3 mins and I can tell you, I am pulling the plug within 5 mins of hair time. When I use my straightener, I feel like it is such a hassle to take it out, warm it up, then use it carefully with a brush. With this brush, I can just comb and go! I did section my hair into 4, but when I use a straightener, I part it probably a bunch of other ways. This is fast and easy to use. I love how it doesn't burn you (I am not saying it won't, but it didn't burn me). It combs my hair while I am straightening it. If I am saying such good things about it, then what happened to the rest of the .5 star you ask? It is because it is a straightener. It straightens your hair, but doesn't flatten it. It doesn't give you that nice sleek look where your hair is nice and shiny and flat. I mean, people who look at this product could probably already tell that it doesn't flatten your hair. So like I said, I love this product to get my hair through the day and make it look like I actually care about my hair. But if you're looking for a flatten look, this might not be your product. I have pretty frizzy hair and after using this, I slap on some hair oil and I'm good to go. Serious a good buy though, especially for such a low price and the job it does.
