These traps are great!!
These traps are great!!! I live on the edge of a canyon and have had a problem with rats and mice. These jaws of death killed six rats and one mouse in the first week of my purchase. Very easy to bait and set, I use granola and peanut butter and have great results!Update. One trap left. After a several kills each trap would not lock anymore and would just snap closed making them useless.Seems like the plastic locking mechanism wears out rather quickly. No complaints as I had over 50 kills with this 6 pack. Time to order more.

Good, but...
These traps don't last longer than one to two uses. I so wanted to give this product a higher mark on this review, because their customer service is excellent, but this review is based on the product itself. It does work wonderfully when it does because the first time I used all six traps at the same time, I caught five out of six rats. But after you catch a rodent, it will not re-engage after one to two times at least that's my experience with this trap. They are easy to set up and easy to clean, if needed. Due to the issues I did have with these, customer service refunded my money and will be replacing what I did have with another set of traps, which I hope is better the second time around. If I can get more uses out of these traps, they would be perfect.

Effective!
Very pleased with this product! Caught 3 mice (who got too comfy in our backyard) on the first day of putting the traps out. Never had such quick success with other traps. Recommended.

Folks, the bad reviews are right. These soon fail
Rats like these traps. I have caught rats with these traps. But the latch mechanism fails after a few uses. You push the thing down to set it and it doesn't set. The mechanism needs to be brass or some thing. These are almost like disposable traps. I have a few of them. I believe some of them I was never able to set. I'm going to try mainline brands of these. Maybe they won't be very good either. Maybe they are all made in the same Chinese factory.

Low quality plastic; traps won't stay set
These traps are not made of high quality plastic. Of the 6 traps that came in the package, 4 of them broke after the first "snap". The locking mechanism that keeps the traps open cracked and the traps had to be thrown away. Two of them worked well, catch after catch, but the other 4 were a waste. You might get lucky with better performance, but stick with the brand name traps for better reliability.

They work. Some things to know - and a valuable tip!
First: Kudos to the seller! The first batch I bought didn't stay set properly (some other reviewers noted similar problems). Seller apologized, acknowledged they had a bad batch, refunded my purchase, AND sent me another batch to review. The new ones work better, though one has now suffered the same fate as the originals. Even if they work new out of the box, after they’ve snapped a few times the trigger/sear wears and won’t stay set. Still a good value though, because unless you’re resetting them very often you’ll still get more use from these than a trap you throw away after the first catch. Now the valuable tip: Rats are very suspicious and may avoid traps (or any new things) when they first see them. To “train” your local rats, leave the traps out UNSET, jaws closed, for a few days. Put bait in the end opposite the jaws, and monitor daily. The back end of these trap looks a lot like the front, and the base is hollow enough to act like a food tray. Sunflower seeds work well for this. When you see the bait is gone, you know the rats are no longer afraid of the trap - then turn it around, bait and set properly. Mr. Rat’s last words will be “SQUeak!” - which loosely translates to “I thought I could trust you!”

Effective and easy to use
The quality is pretty good- Effective and easy to use - great for dispatching damaging chipmunks- easy to fill cups hold bait - peanut butter is a solid choice- and can be filled with out concern of snapping yourselfThe should make a larger version for squirrels!
