Travis & Viola Duet (Checkmate Collections Book 1)

I really loved this story!! I loved having them together in the collection as the first book ends on a cliff hanger so being able to start the next one right away was huge for me lol. These characters were great! I loved the development in themselves and in their relationship. They had things that they had to work through to truly get to their happy ending. I loved the banter between the characters as well. They had me laughing out loud reading/listening to this story. I loved the secondary characters as well and can’t wait to read the next books in this series!!

Yet, somehow they keep getting put off and moved down that never ending TBR pile? Well that was the Checkmate Duet for me. I decided while I was on vacation for spring break this year that it was time to bump this baby up my TBR and dive in! I started Checkmate: This is War on the last day of our trip.You guys!!! Oh. Em. Gee. I devoured these books. I mean.... I COULDN'T STOP. I read on the plane, in the car, at the airport, when I was trying to fall asleep, on every lunch break when I was back at work, even while I was walking the dog. (I maaaay have accidentally tripped on the sidewalk a few times. Maybe.) Even that wasn't enough. I NEEDED more! I grabbed the audio so that I didn't have to take breaks from reading while getting ready for and driving to work, or doing chores around the house. Have you ever had a book consume you like that?The first Checkmate Duet: Travis & Viola is an enemies to lovers romance and I found it so fun. Their witty banter, the pranks and the back and forth was perfect. This bind up of This is War and This is Love is probably the way to go, because the ending of the first book will leave you with sweaty palms and your jaw on the floor. I was SO happy that I didn't have to wait to find out what happened. It's a rough cliffy!To summarize: Read these books. Don't wait! You won't regret it. If you love a good angsty read with a bit of humor and a lot of drama, you will love Travis and Viola's story. The sequel to second Checkmate Duet releases next week and I am so excited to start Drew and Courtney's story. I love this secret writing duo and am thankful to have finally picked up their books. I may have a legit obsession with Kennedy Fox now. So thanks to all those ladies that posted and talked about how amazing their books are. I hope these authors continue to share more stories with us!

The Checkmate Duet Box Set is made up of Checkmate: This is War & Checkmate: This is Love. They tell the story of Travis and Viola. It is an enemies to lovers romance. Travis and Viola has known each other for years. Travis is the best friend of Viola's older brother, Drew. They lived near each other growing up. This story starts when Viola is finishing her last year of college.I loved Viola right away. She is a little, nerdy bookworm and I can relate to that. I love all the Harry Potter references. I would hope that we could be friends in real life. Travis and me had a love and hate relationship going on for a while. I wanted to shake him at certain parts. He definitely won me over by the end. I really enjoyed reading this book. I was one of the weirdo that read Checkmate: This is Reckless first. I loved it and I appreciate it even more after reading this box set. Please come join me and hop on the Kennedy Fox bandwagon. You will definitely enjoy the ride.

This is a good duet. There were a few grammatical errors which drive me crazy but not so many that I would lower my rating. One thing that did bother me were the timelines of the pregnancy. When Viola found out that she was pregnant she had already missed three periods. Yet when she returned home a little over six months later she would have been at least seven or eight months pregnant. She said she felt the baby kick for the first time. That is something you feel at four and a half to five months along. She must have been pregnant for a year!

I absolutely loved this book!!!!! It was definitely an easy read and much to my husband's chagrin, I couldn't out the book (actually my Kindle reader) down!! I was a fun read with lots of twists and turns. You may know that there will be a happy ending, but you have got to go on the journey with them to see how it all works out! What a great read and I will actually pay for the next book in this series because this one was SO good!! Enjoy!!!

Holy crap....Kennedy Fox is becoming a new favorite for me for sure! If you love a great enemies to lovers story and some great hate sex threaded throughout the story, you are in for a treat with this story. I now need to get all of the Checkmate books because just Wow. The cliffhanger on this one has me salivating to read the second part of Travis and Viola's story and although I have a TBR and MUST read list in place for the month...I'm throwing that list aside to finish this duet. GREAT writing, super steamy and just Wow!

Checkmate is an apt name for these two books! Growing up together and having a huge crush on big brothers best friend is no small thing. But watching him hook up with every available woman is pure torture for Viola and when Travis finally sees her the magic happens. Keeping it a secret becomes problematic for them both and that is all because of Drew’s ex, Mia. She is always around to stir up trouble. Travis and Viola must walk through all the mess to get to happy but it’s worth it.. good read..

As enemies to lovers this works. I honestly got tired of Viola though. The big reveal of why she started hating Travis left me shaking my head at her. And then, how many different ways can she mess with Travis before she finally gets over herself and takes what he's offering? Once she did, though, it was sweet. The sex was super hot. This was a good fluff read, with not a lot of substance.

This story of Travis and Viola is awesome. Sweet. Hot. Dirty. Funny. Hilarious banter. Huge amount of shenanigans. A lot of angst. Most of all a truly loving story that will sweep you along and leave your heart full.Definitely recommended.

This duet has been amazing to read. The journey Viola and Travis went on and the trials and tribulations. It's fun, quick and HOT!There were a few times I wanted to smack Viola upside the head though.

Travis and Viola. I honestly do not know what to say because i do not want to give one single thing away. Its a must read. I didnt want to put it down. Absolutely incredible. Love love love it!!

Ok, this book had me hooked from the very beginning. I was on the edge of my seat reading it. Travis and Viola were just perfection together. You need to read this pronto.
