Good for beginners, and definitely worth the price
The media could not be loaded. If you want to love this product, then certainly lower your expectations from it. For the price it was offered at (under INR 7000), I think this kit deserves a 4 star rating as it is any day a wonderful set up for beginners. Moreover, uncertainty lurks around the fate of the gyms as this pandemic doesn't seem to be coming to an end any time soon. Thus, this Body Maxx home gym set up would really come in handy if you're passionate about staying fit and are willing to devote an hour or two towards physical fitness in the comfort of your home.About the packaging and delivery:The packaging was neat and tidy, and adequate nuts and bolts for assembly were provided in the package. The product was delivered sooner than expected - almost 10 days earlier.Set up instruction manual was not provided, but it should not take you long to figure out how to set up the station. You may refer to the photograph of the fully assembled product provided by the manufacturer on amazon.About the stations:You can do bench presses with ease with the 5-inch rod in all three positions - flat, incline and decline.Thr dumbbell rods are good and can support 3 weight plates on either side. Switching plates is quite smooth as the locking nuts come off and go back on pretty easily. The two handles at the dip station, right behind the bench press have decent foam grips, are welded nicely to the bench press frame and can hold your body weight well (if you're below 90 kg), but please ensure you do not jump into it with a jerk. Also ensure that you have counter weights hanging on the protruding rod at the leg raise station so as to ensure that the station stays grounded firmly while you carry out dips. The chest fly and leg raise are majorly only demo stations so I removed them from my set up,but you may choose to retain them if you are able to use them effectively. Both the zigzag as well as the straight rod feel somewhat thin, especially if you've been to the gym before, but that shouldn't be a deterrent as the rods are pretty sturdy for their girth. The diamond cut grip on the straight rod fails to impress, but it's okay, given the fact that you don't have to lift extra heavy weights with it.The clamps for the zigzag as well as the straight rod, are very hard and thin, which makes them not so easy to remove and put back on after every set for switching weight plates. The rubber from the weight plates tends to leave your hands dirty and small pieces of it inevitably make it to the floor and your clothes. This could be an irritating factor for most. The bench feels delicate, but it could take my weight fairly well. Be cautious if you're above 90 KG as the bench might give up. While using the bench, pleasure ensure that you do not apply sudden jerks or put excessive/uneven weight near the edges as the the ply underneath the foam might rupture.About the accessories:Do not count on the accessories please! The skipping rope handles come off if you do too much of skipping, but then of course you can put them back on in a jiffy! The rope has wooden handles and is sufficiently large in terms of rope length. The hand grips are somewhat crude, but they carry out the job they're intended to, well. They have wooden handles. The gloves are a disaster as the threads will come off the very first day or the material would wither away after prolonged usage.Overall verdict:Go for this product if:-1. You are a beginner/novice at gymming/lifting weights and want to set up a modest home gym2. You are running tight on budget3. You can overlook the inferior accessories that come along4. You'd rather prefer rubber that keeps shedding off in small amounts than go in for cheaper PVC plates which are prone to breaking easily if they fall on the ground.5. You are someone who believes in use and throw (of course after prolonged use) and not someone who would like to buy something for a lifetime.
