Great buy!!
I love this game! The animations are smooth and pleasing to look at. The story line was clear and easy to follow. I felt like it was a short game at first, but then I realized that was because I decided it was a brilliant idea to play it non-stop till I finished it (which took WAY longer than I realized). The characters each end up with some goofy characteristic all the Lego characters usually have in all their other games. I have absolutely no complaints for this game. All in all, I would highly recommend this game to anyone who has enjoyed the Lego games!

Great game! Storyline is fun
Great game! Storyline is fun, bonus missions are fun. There is so much content. I have been playing this game for about two months and I am only 50 percent done with the game. The only bad things are that there aren't as many bonus missions as there are on the console versions. It does not have Lor sanTekkas return, the Crimson corsair or the holo chess mini game.

Great game for kids
This product is for my nephew. He is a big STAR WARS fan and loves playing his handheld game system. I have bought other games, in the past, and they have always enjoyed them...especially the LEGO style games.

Definitely a fun game.
I purchased this game for my wife and she absolutely loves it. She recently had me trade in most of her games as she typically does not replay games after a while... not this one. This one stayed. How could you go wrong with Star Wars and Lego?

Disappointing low-quality port with design flaws
Before saying anything else, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens for 3DS is a low-quality port of the PC and console versions. The visual quality isn't up to snuff compared to other 3DS games, but despite this, the game chugs along at a low framerate in some places. The game barely makes any use of the touchscreen or the L and R buttons. Lastly, this game has actually *crashed* at least 6 times for me now, prompting an error message I've never seen on the 3DS before that forced me to reboot the system.Compared to the original LSW games, one change that is immediately noticeable is the addition of voice acting. While the original Lego titles only had wordless vocalizations such as grunts and "hmm"s , TFA adds both sound bites from the films and original voice over. At first I didn't feel that the voices fit the atmosphere of a Lego game. Eventually I got used to them and even started to enjoy some of the dialog that was written specifically for this game. Unfortunately audio quality is all over the place. Dialog taken from the film is well-acted but not the best quality. The new dialog recorded by the actors is mostly extremely low-quality and sometimes the performance is totally lifeless. Hearing Harrison Ford read his lines in a soft monotone is depressing; I guess the Lego team couldn't pay him enough to actually act.In the original LSW games, you interacted with things almost exclusively by pressing the dedicated "use" button. This was easy to remember and let you focus on other things without detracting from the gameplay at all. However, in TFA each interaction is done in a different way, turning them all into pointless minigames. Sometimes you press use, pull down on the analog stick, then release it. Sometimes you jiggle the stick back and forth. Sometimes you mash use. Sometimes you have to press X or Y. These mechanics never feel natural or enhance the gameplay, but simply serve to waste your time and make it more difficult to keep the controls straight. This is exacerbated by the baffling decision to use the same key for 'ranged attack' as for 'use' (in the original LSW games, you had one button for using things and a different button for attacking things, which makes a lot more sense! Why did they change this?!)There are a lot of collectibles and unlockables throughout the game, but they don't always stand out well and don't seem as exciting as in the older Lego titles. In Lego Star Wars II, I found myself constantly noticing and mentally cataloging collectibles and secret areas to come back for later in Free Play when I had unlocked the proper characters. In TFA on the 3DS, I rarely got the same feeling. A related annoyance is that TFA on the 3DS doesn't give you the option of replaying a level in Story mode once you beat it; you can only replay it in Free Play mode, which is a different experience and will often cause you to lose some of the dialog.TFA does improve upon the old Lego Star Wars titles in a few ways. It's easier to change which character you are controlling without having to be standing next to and looking at the character you want to take over. There are more free-exploration hub worlds, with a nice feature of being able to instantly summon vehicles to roam around in. Interactive loading animations help to stave off boredom while waiting for levels to load. The cover-based-shooter "Blaster battle" sequences and the starfighter sequences are exciting even if they aren't particularly challenging, and they look great in 3D.Overall, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a disappointing title that has some fun value but suffers from a distinct lack of polish when it was ported to the 3DS. This is not likely to be an instant classic that you'll want to pick up and play a decade from now. That said, despite my initial disappointment in the overall quality I did end up having a decent amount of fun in the game and don't regret the purchase at its current sub-$20 price.
