legacy
At the start boring but soon caught with action and at the end it terminated into a visual readers delight. Loved it and will recommend my friend’s too

Definitely not Wilbur Smith's style of writing. A waste of time.
An apology for a book by Wilbur Smith. I have read most of his novels, but have never come across a book as wishy washy as this. Best left to gather dust on the shelf.

INSPID & DISAPPOINTING
A huge fan of Wilbur Smith. But highly disappointed with this book. Smooth blending of incidents is lacking. Appears that different incidents are written & loosely bonded. Lacks suspence. COULD HAVE DONE BETTER

Good but not Wilbur
It's ok but again it isn't Wilbur Smith. Wilburs characters but he did not write this yet again as with all of the last books. Good but certainly not the ' Number 1 best selling international author', but the publishers cashing in on his name

Absolute Crap!
The worst Wilbur Smith book ever! Almost gave up numerous times. Boring beyond compare. A lot of page skipping because you miss nothing.Smith never wrote this! It’s just an exercise in making Money.

Didnt enjoy as much as Wilbur Smiths previous books
I have been an avid reader of Wilbur Smith for decades. He has always been one of my fave authors.Im not sure why but I didnt find this book as good a all his previous books I have read.Maybe the author had a bad day, I will still read his books and hopefully enjoy them like all his other work.

A great book written by a masterful story-teller!
I've read all Wilbur Smith books, either written by himself or in collaboration with h another writer, and this one has all the ingredients of his previous masterpieces! The only things that are somehow under-represented are the fabulous African flora and fauna, which were described so vividly in previous works.

Excellent tale.
Co wrote , ghost writers helping, "not Wilbur Smith" . Who cares and let's be honest, without spoilers , a superb story ( and for the cynics that what it is, a story ) that cracks along at a pace that makes you look forwards to the next page. At first I was dubious about some of the recaps but they certainly helped me remember incidents from earlier episodes whose details I'd forgotten. At a couple of points you think it's slowing down or wonder what can happen next but then it's headlong into the next phase. As for authenticity , let's just remember as I said , it's a story but there's no doubt that some of the aspects of it , particularly the mau uprising are on point how they've been described. Take that from my families experience, I'm too young but they were in Nairobi & Mombassa at that time.
