The original Ecoplus 1/4 HP chiller was great, Much quieter and cooled a lot faster than the new model. The new model 1/4 HP is noisy and takes forever to cool my 100 gallon tank. **Q: I need chiller to use it for shower water, could I use this chiller for that? If not, do you know any chiller could used for shower water?** A: Not sure why you would want or need to chill shower water. You can't put this inline with a high pressure plumbing system. But you could use this to chill water by pumping from a warm water container into a cold water container. **Q: I received my EcoPlus water chiller 1/10 hp. I unpacked it and noticed a strong odor and liquid inside. is that normal?** A: In our case I Don't saw this liquid or a strong odor. **Q: We have a 1/3 hp Flotec sump pump, will it work with the chiller?** A: The chiller needs 260-660 gph pumped thru it. I wanted something a little beefy for my aquarium that would be able to hit temperatures of 68 degrees F or lower when the weather gets hot for my new newts. One thing to note is that this unit requires a rather high minimum flow rate (633 GPH). I paired this unit with an EcoPlus 633 submersible/inline pump and am using it to drive my canister filter and chiller at the same time. It is working perfectly. it hit 80 degrees F outside today and this chiller has kept my aquarium at 68 degrees F without making much of an effort. ### ⭐⭐⭐ It works *by B***X on Reviewed in the United States on 10 March 2014* It got here quickly and safely.The screw clamps that come with the package were totally stripped and had to be replaced. Other than that, all parts work.When I took it out of the box, it still had water on the fittings, and I imagine in the unit as well- So you might want to clean it before use.The question is, how well does it work? It is advertised to chill 100 gallons of water by 30 degrees(F).. and 170 gallons by 10 degrees(F). I have 45 gallons, at the very most, that needs to be chilled from 83 degrees to 55 degrees and it will not do this. If I set the temperature at 58 degrees, it rarely gets below 67. The lowest I've seen it go is 61. In reality I probably only have 30-35 gallons to be chilled, so I am a little disappointed. However, it could be worse. This unit is not too noisy, and the heat it puts off is not so bad if given enough space.
