Good Economically Priced Transfer Fan - I Bought Three
I bought three of these Thru-Wall fans for our cabin at the lake. We have a fireplace in the living room and electric baseboard heaters throughout the cabin but no central air so no way to circulate the air between the rooms in the cabin.I wired these fans up to Z-Wave light switches and control them with my Ion Security System and Home Automation App. The fans come on automatically at preprogrammed intervals and circulate the air in the cabin automatically.Installation was fairly easy although I did run into a problem on a wall were the fan shroud was just a couple millimetres too short. The wall was 2x6 but had drywall and pine panelling on it which made it slightly thicker than the fan housing would allow. The bottom line here is ... as long as your wall is 2x4 or 2x6 with just one sheet of drywall on each side you'll be Ok, anything thicker and it may not seal properly. The other issue I had was with the cutout and template. They supply a cutout template in the box which works however the bottom lower right hand screw hold were the speed control is located is very close to the end of the cutout you make in the drywall. All the other holes are fine but this lower right hand hole may or may not hold the screw and drywall anchor. I learned after the first one to be very careful when cutting the template and not to cut any extra on the bottom lower right corner. As far as performance is concerned the fan works great and transfers the air from one room to another efficiently and fairly quietly. On the lower fan speeds you hardly notice the fan while at high speeds you do hear the fan motor but it's still quiet enough to sleep while the fan is running. As mentioned I purchased three (3) fans and one of the three did have a louder sounding more than the other too, still relatively quiet but louder than the other two fans.Overall I've very happy with these thru the wall fans. They circulate the air well between rooms in our cabin and help to balance out the follow of heat in the winter and cool air in the summer. At the time of purchase I paid $92.49. At that price I would recommend these fans to anyone and would purchase them again.Note: I also purchased a Tjernlund AireShare transfer fan from Amazon.com (US Site). It's a lot more expensive but is definitely built better and is quieter than the Suncourt model. Both fans work well so if you're on a budget use the Suncourt and if money's no object or you want the quietest transfer fan here's a link to the Tjernlund which is now available on Amazon.ca Tjernlund Products ASLL Level to Level Aireshare Fan, 75 CFMTjernlund Products ASLL Level to Level Aireshare Fan, 75 CFM

Fan started making loud noises
The media could not be loaded. Worked well for about one month of light use. Then all of a sudden, one day the fan started making this rattling noise. The noise is the same at any setting and doesn't let off. For the price, I would have expected more than a month's use out of this purchase. This Fan is used to ventilate an office and the noise becomes very irritable and therefore must be kept off. I now have a giant whole in the wall and no use for this fan.

Midleading image - but great company
The image showing the direction of airflow is wrong, the fan is set up to blow one way only. I needed something to pull warm air from the living room and push it through a bulk head leading upstairs, and after looking at a number of products, this one seemed to be able to do it.wrong. It's set up only to push air out.BUT. I reached out to the company and they were great to deal with. They acknowledged the mistake on the diagram and said that they do have an after market piece (I couldn't find it on Amazon.) They sent it to me, it's basically a reversed fan blade, and once I got that on it works like I hoped it would.Decent fan, and great customer service.

I'm a fan of the fan!
Last year we replaced our wood stove with a pellet stove. I love how easy the pellet stove is to run and less mess in the house. The downfall is it doesn't radiate heat like a wood stove, it shoots the heat out the front. My pellet stove is situated in my kitchen and pointed the opposite direction on my living room. and master bedroom. So last winter we placed some regular 6-8" fans on the floor to move around, but the air on the floor is cool. So I searched what others were doing and I came up with this fan. Read some reviews and clicked and bought. It was here in 2 days and installed the same day. It was rather painless to install because ironically there was a perfect space above the stove and on a connecting wall between the kitchen and living room. As a bonus the power source was on a stud right next to the fan, so I hardwired it in and Voila, heat in the living room! It's made a big difference comfort wise when sitting in the living room. One issue I read was the noise level, we're kinda used to the pellet stove generating blower noise so the fan is actually unnoticeable of the stove.Installation in my case was super easy and took about an hour, but I'm a hands on guy. I lucked out on the power source as well. One thing I might change if i get ambitious, the variable speed thing is cool but in my case useless. Reaching up to turn it on and off is a stretch for the wife, so I might just put a regular wall mounted switch for on/off ease.Worth the $$ !!!PS. when cutting the hole for fan, be careful to get it as close to the template and make a nice cut if it's drywall. The screws to hold the fan and grill in place are really close to the fan hole. So if you blow out the drywall on the back side the little plastic shields to be inserted to hold the screws will have nothing to hold on to,....AND the fan can be mounted vertically or horizontally!thxDanny
