## Description

Product Description MOTOR ASSEMBLY, AC, PUMP From the Manufacturer This is a genuine replacement part. The model number and name for the following item is: Drain Pump 4681EA2002H LG pump

Review: Real "LG OEM" Washing Machine Drain Pump - Simple Installation, Perfect Fit and Very Quiet!!! - In reviewing the various product reviews for this pump and similar models, I noticed a considerable amount of confusion about which model drain pump is the "actual" OEM part (for my particular model LG washing machine - model # WM3875HVCA), and which ones are just knock-offs that are passed off as being OEM when they are not. Rest assured, this pump is a "true" LG OEM part. Be advised however, this particular drain pump does in fact "look" different from the original drain pump (installed in my LG washing machine when it was assembled/built), and that is because it is different - it has a slightly different design. I had discovered same, as well as the reason behind same, after researching the "OEM" issue at length (including reviewing LG's support pages applicable to my particular model washing machine). As it turns out, LG had discontinued the original model drain pump many years ago and replaced it with two (2) other pump units, with this particular drain pump being the second (latest/newest) of the two. After installing this new "upgraded" pump and then running the washing machine, I immediately realized why LG had replaced the original drain pump with this particular model pump - it's "super" quiet to say the least and when running, it produces less than half of the noise the original pump had made, even without having the extra "plastic" cover installed over it. After I had solved the "OEM" issue described above, the next step was figuring out which of the "upgraded" LG drain pumps (all having the same part number) was most likely to be the (or an) LG OEM drain pump and which ones were not (there are several that look identical). This is where the desertcart's reviews came in handy. After reviewing same for each of the drain pumps purporting to be an official "LG OEM" replacement part (all of which have the same part number and similar image - again, being the OEM replacement for the "upgraded" model LG drain pump), I determined, to a reasonable degree of certainty, that the two (2) cheapest drain pumps ($16 and $18 respectively) were "probably" knock-offs and the more expensive drain pumps ($28 and up) were also "probably" knock-offs. Hence my selection and purchase of this specific drain pump and yes, my decision to select and purchase this particular pump was the correct decision, without question. I ended up ordering the pump after midnight and, as usual, it showed up at my house the next day - literally just 12-18 hours after I had placed the order (a benefit I suppose of living in Atlanta, near one or more of desertcart's warehouses). As common sense had dictated for me to also replace the circulation pump at the same time (which, unlike my drain pump had not yet failed but, after inspection, would have also failed in days if not weeks), I did have to wait until 9 am the following day when the circulation pump was delivered (again, it's awesome to live near one or more desertcart hubs/warehouses). With both pumps now in hand and having already had cleaned the pump housing and the other parts I could easily remove the night before, I proceeded with the installation process. Suffice it to say that the installation of the drain pump (as well as the new circulation pump I had purchased) was incredibly easy thanks to another desertcart purchaser whose prior review (of this pump or one of the other "OEM" pumps available), had also mentioned how to bypass the lengthy installation process that 99% of the websites list (and which all the installation videos on YouTube show) and complete the replacement in a fraction of the time - simply by draining the washing machine and laying it on its side (revealing the bottom of the washing machine which is completely open). I am not kidding, the opening on the bottom of the washing machine is huge (assuming your LG washer is at all similar to mine which I am confident it is), and you will have ample room to navigate around the bottom of the washer to change any part you need (or desire). The entire pump installation process took me less than 15 minutes and if necessary, I could have accomplished same in less than 5 minutes (again, kudos to the other desertcart reviewer who shared the "bottom of the LG washer" installation secret). Once installed, my washing machine immediately operated better than before and, as stated above, with much less noise than before. In fact, I am sincerely amazed at how loud the old drain pump and old circulation pump had become and how I had not really noticed same before. My home office is near our laundry room and for years, I have worked at my desk in my home office and listened to the sound of my washer and dryer in the background oblivious to the fact my washing machine had been getting louder and louder over the years. As last night was the first night I had worked in my home office (since I had installed the new pumps) with my washer and dryer operating in the background, I can attest that the difference in sound (i.e. the noise reduction) from before and after replacement of the pumps (drain and circulation), is very significant, easily noticeable, and a very pleasant surprise/bonus. In summary, please note the following: 1. You can't go wrong with this particular "LG OEM" drain pump, its the real McCoy! 2. Yes, this model drain pump is different from the original drain pump, its supposed to be - its an upgrade! 3. Yes, you can throw away the plastic "shield" that was installed on the original drain pump - you will not need it and even without it, this drain pump is much quieter than the original drain pump (and its no surprise that LG had discontinued using the original model drain pump and replaced it with this particular unit). 4. When replacing the drain pump, be smart and also change the circulation pump at the same time (and as stated above, as soon as you remove the original pumps, you will quickly see why changing both pumps (drain pump and circulation pump) is the only/obvious way to go/proceed. 5. With respect to the circulation pump, the current “LG OEM” circulation pump is the same model pump originally installed in the washing machine (when the washer was originally assembled/built). When purchasing same, I still had to figure out which specific circulation pump listed/available was the true “LG OEM” part and which ones were not (as there were several pumps available having the same model number and having the same appearance). I figured out same by following the same steps/research procedures described above I utilized when selecting which drain pump to purchase (from the several that were available having the same model number and same image). 6. When replacing the drain pump (and circulation pump - see #4 above), definitely take advantage of the secret "via the bottom of washing method" of accessing the pumps and pump housing. It will save you a ton of time and hassle - and after completing the installation of the new pumps in my washing machine, I can't imagine why anyone would knowingly utilize the other installation method (i.e. taking off the top cover and front cover of the washing machine to access the pumps and pump housing). 7. When replacing the pumps, make sure you take pictures of everything before you start the process. By everything, I mean everything, the pumps, the pump housing, the hoses, the location of, and orientation of the hose clamps, the electrical wires connected to the pumps, the orientation of the pump housing mounting bracket, and anything else you may move, disconnect or otherwise touch during the pump replacement/installation process. Final impression, I am very impressed by the intuitive design of LG's washing machines - which fosters ease with respect to the replacement of those particular parts (such as the subject drain pump) that take the most wear and tear and are expected to eventually fail after so many years, so many wash cycles, etc. and equally impressed by LG's decision to replace the original model drain pump with this new "upgraded" model pump. I hope you find the foregoing review/information helpful. I rarely write such reviews but in this particular case, I believe it was warranted (if only to convey my thanks to the other desertcart purchaser who had enlightened me to the "secret" installation shortcut mentioned above).
Review: The right part for my LG Dishwasher and the results are great - My LG Dishwasher was not draining thoroughly and more than an inch of murky water was left after the cycle ended. Because the drain hose had gunked-up food, grease and debris from more than eleven years, I went ahead and replaced both the drain pump motor and the drain hose assembly. I watched an online video on the topic and it showed exact steps for the repairs. There is some level of difficulty, such as disconnecting the electrical wires, water line and reconnecting properly when complete. The parts matching feature on desertcart was perfect. With the right parts and a nugget of knowledge, this repair was completed in less than 2 hours. In conclusion, I was able to find the right parts for my LG Dishwasher and the results are great.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent part
*by T***Y on February 17, 2020*

Got OE Error message on my washer, which usually means the drain pump is faulty. I needed the part quickly and so I went through Amazon. Yes, the pump may not be a genuine LG part and is made in China, but what isn't these days. Viewed as many of the YouTube videos as I could on the removal and replacement of the pump. Got the job done in an hour and fifteen minutes. Pump is quiet and works as I expect it should. Would buy again.
