The bar is in two pieces as stated. It consists of two zinc tubes, chrome plated, and one of the tubes has a brass tube of smaller diameter inside it which you use to slide the other one onto. However, the tolerances are not very tight so there is a tiny amount of play. You can't really see it from a distance, but it doesn't feel like a solid bar. To deal with that I used an epoxy to set them in place. However because the bar are not perfectly finished and the aforementioned tolerances, the connecting joint is not perfectly smooth to glide over. If your shower curtain hangers have little metal rollers you should be fine, but if you have just the old hook variety, it may snag. I used some extra epoxy on the joint and then sanded it until it was smooth, (320, then 600 grit wet sandpaper, then toothpaste) but this removes the chrome plating at the joint, so it looks like dull zinc for the inch around the joint. I made it work but if given a choice I'd go for something with a solid bar. The hardware for attaching to the wall, however, is very solid. No expense spared solid chrome plated castings. If I find a nice chrome bar in one piece one day I would replace.

This is a heavy duty shower rod. It doesn't look cheap. It takes a little effort to put up, but is well worth it.

Solid bar, mounted easily, looks fantastic, would recommend to anyone tired of ugly mountable bars or the friction fit type.

Looks great, installation is pretty easy, but the 2-piece rod sags in the middle... womp womp. I rigged it up with Duct Tape, until the hubs gets a replacement rod cut and we have a solid, non-sagging rod...

I had the standard shower curtain rod with rubber ends and it fell crashing to the ground numerous times no matter how tight I tried to set it. This rod is of superior quality and screws into the wall. No more worrying about the curtain falling down in the middle of showering. Excellent product!
