Worked as expected during a trip to Costa Rica. No bites for us. Friends got bitten. They didn't use Ben's 30% Deet protection.
Ben's 30% DEET Mosquito, Tick and Insect Repellent, 6-Ounce Eco Spray Used during a trip to Costa Rica. Didn't get bitten. People with us who didn't use deet did get bitten, a lot. But we didn't! So, I'll say it worked as advertised! Notes: VERY strong odor/smell when first sprayed. Fades within 20 minutes in a light breeze. Use Vinyl or Nitrile (thin/medical-style) gloves when applying. After spraying body, use gloves to rub-down making sure all areas are covered. DON'T spray face. Spray onto gloves and use gloves to wipe onto face. Bottle didn't last as long as hoped (5 full days). It lasted 4 days. One person using it on legs/arms/neck/head/face. And one person using lightly for 2 days on arms/ankles. Also pick up Ben's deet wipes. Good to keep in pocket/bag if you don't want to carry the spray bottle to refresh the protection after 4 hours. They're also handy to share with other people. Bottle too large for carry-on bags. Have to be packed in check-in. I'd love a carry-on size.

good stuff, quick delivery
We camp in our Sprinter van and last time we went we found 5 ticks in our bed one morning (luckily a tick check found no ticks on either of us). Based on this experience we decided to get fresh Deet based repellant and settled on the Ben's 30% eco spray. Some reviews complain about the aerosol coming out in a stream instead of a mist and we found that you need to make sure that you shake it well then be sure to depress the spray button all of the way. If you don't depress it all the way then sure enough it comes out in a narrow stream.

Product works well, dispenser doesn't
They had to replace the first can because it wouldn't spray. The second can sprays, but poorly. The best way to apply it is spraying it into your hands then rubbing it in you skin, just be sure to wash your hands when you're done. The product is great, it works, and doesn't irritate my skin like other sprays have. Just wish they made a better way to apply it.

worked great
I have only used this once the smell is not overwelming as an other well known brand, which is good for me, because of a breathing condition. Main use - back yard, have no plans to visit parks or woods this season

Oily residue - hated it.
This is the worst bug spray I have ever used because it is insanely greasy! It left an oily on my silk sundress and I hated how it felt. I had to dab it in using a towel. The smell was horrendous. I will say - it does keep the bugs away but at what cost! Other sprays have worked as well without feeling like you are spraying cooking oil on yourself!

The BEST
Hands down the best bug dope ever!!! We live in northern Michigan and spent most of last summer in North Dakota where the skeeters and black flies are even worse than at home. My husband was working out in ND and was given Ben's by his boss. He has worked out of doors for 50 some years and says this is the greatest stuff he has ever used. I purchased a case online while there. We are back in MI now and hubs is working in the woods, we have ordered two more cases so he can give cans to the crew. I have the wipes and the spray in my car at all times. I have checked Walmart and other stores and Amazon has the best prices. If you work in bugs and don't mind deet~ this is the bug dope for you! I received all orders faster than expected.

Ben's 30% DEET
This 30% DEET product works great at repelling mosquitoes. I have used it for several months and ordered additional bottles. In this age of Zika, Chikungunya, Encephalitis, West Nile virus, etc., an effective mosquito repellent is a must have product if you spend time outdoors. This is the maximum strength recommended for children. It provides all-day protection, if you don't wash it off. The description says fragrance-free, but there is a definite odor when you spray it on, so I would not say that is a true claim. It has a lift & turn spray top, to make it more challenging for kids to play with. Great product!

Very effective, used it while fishing in bug season. The only con is that it's oily.

Go it for my boyfriend and it worked well. We bought another one. He works outside all the time and mosquitos and ticks stopped bothering him. I would say he went through it pretty fast though.

Usually I come back from the Caribbean with infected mosquito bites and looking like I have chicken pox.. YES, they blister n create holes. I came back with one bite! That's the pic. One. That was the bite that reminded me I needed to use the spray. I actually love the oily spray as I used it to spread all over my body. Yes it stinks. I am a girly girl that prefers to smell yummylicious. Sighhhhhh this is not yummy Even my family in the islands who get bitten regularly? grabbed the spray n loved it. (I left that can with em n took the full can. I am not THAT Nice lol) Buy it. It stinks but it works.

I am a repeat customer of this product because it does what it is suppose to in keeping ticks at bay. With this said, we have experienced issues with the spray cans that dispenses it. The can is very well intentioned as it turns and locks on the top to avoid an accidental discharge, however, when used as intended with the top turned with the output nozzle in plain view, it does not always dispense the product properly. With one of the cans, the product actually came out in small streams that went all over the place as opposed to a spray. Half of the product was wasted.
