Can I put this straight on dirt?

Not if you want to play basketball.

Can this be placed right above the grass ......?

I tried it for a Basketball court but they didn’t provide a firm enough surface to bounce the ball on.

Is it easy to uninstall???

I installed over gravel base so it was difficult. Easy to install on cement or very hard surface.

So what do you put under the tiles?

We put the flooring on top of our outside deck because it was splintering in spots. Laying this flooring over the wood was more cost-effective than replacing the deck and has worked great. I think you can lay this flooring over any level surface.
