Wish they sing as well as they look... :-(
I think the look of these singing bowls is what ultimately persuaded me to purchase. Regretfully, the smaller bowls don't sing very well. In fact, the smallest bowl barely sings at all. I purchased them for a friend for his birthday. I watched/listened to him play them and was very disappointed by the bowls' lack of pitch. Another disappointing aspect is that the smaller bowls don't stay firmly in place upon their pillows. While circulating the mallet around the tip of the bowls, they spun around inside the pillow, or the bowl and pillow spun at the same time. This made it very difficult to play them. I feel this would not have happened if the bowls were heavier. It took a high level of concentration and position-stiffness to get the smaller bowl to sing. I feel they aren't very well made nor well tuned because in comparison to the singular singing bowl my friend purchased from a local metaphysics shop, there really is no comparison. His one bowl out sings all seven of these hands down.
