This is my first "Super Source" book. The moment I finished flipping through it, I came online to find other titles in the series. There is a wide range of hands-on activites. Although some of the lessons seem simplistic or unoriginal, such as using a mirror to find symmetry, this is exactly what some of my students need. As a fifth-grade teacher, I am often shocked by the lack of knowledge that my students have. I sense that they need more time to explore with manipulatives. Students may approach a topic, such as symmetry, in a variety of ways. I was looking for more ideas for differentiation, and I found them. There are discussion prompts, writing prompts, open-ended questions, and extensions.

This will work out perfectly to teach 5th grade CCSS math standards in a Math Workshop framework.
