Clean look
Overall good camera.Pros : clean look, no extra wires on your dashboard, no extra monitors on your windshield, doesn't block your cigarette lighter socket, fairly good quality of picture (I will explain in cons), fairly easy installation.Cons : because the camera monitor is in the rearview mirror and the mirror always points to the bright spot i.e. rear window, the rear camera picture doesn't have enough contrast against the background. It still gives you good picture, enough to safely park your car but you can't compare it to the factory installed monitor or the monitor which you install somewhere on your dashboard or your windshield - so if you don't mind extra clutter on your dashboard, go for it. I like clean look. This "problem" exists only during a day because at night the picture background is dark and you have a sharp contrast. I will submit pictures of the monitor in a day and night conditions so you will understand what am I taking about.

Youtube is your friend!
First, the product itself is pretty damn cool. I cannot speak to the longevity yet, but initial satisfaction is great. I think you'll need to be a 3 out of 10 on the HANDY scale to install...that does NOT mean you have to understand ELECTRONICS...it means you have to be willing to crawl around your vehicle and be willing to take out plastic trim pieces, perhaps drill a hole (very unlikely except in the case of going WAAAY customized), and in my case, spend a little time on your back underneath your truck, routing the wiring...which is easy when you follow the route of other wires! I took me all of about 2 hours to install, perhaps a little more, but I was dealing with a broken arm, so that slowed me down a bit.I don't think it's in the description, but the camera angle IS ADJUSTABLE. I've seen some youtube video's where the "grid" on the monitor makes it look like they'll be parking 3 or 4 feet in the air...just turn down the camera and the image of the grid appears "grounded"! ha ha.FINALLY, my VT1 kit came with quick splicers (little plastic pieces that make splicing in to an existing wire a "snap". I know what I'm doing there, used the splicers precisely as they should have been used, and ... NOTHING.... at first I thought I may have had a DOA camera since I tested the wire for power and ground and knew them to be fine. Then I hopped on YouTube for help. Sure enough, ran across a DIYer who discovered that sometimes, the wires are just too thin to get an effective connection through the splicers...so what he did was simply cut out the splicers and twist all the wires together. In my case, I shrink wrapped them afterward (if you're not familiar with shrink tubing, youtube it or use plenty of electrical tape. Anyway, like anything that's not just plug and play...the more handy you are, the more willing to be creative you are, the more likely your project will come together. I think most negative comments stem from an unwillingness to think, or expectations of the product that are beyond its description. For the price and heck, even regardless of the price, the VT1 is definitely worth it.

Great add on
So, I purchased this for my daughter’s car since hers was the only vehicle in the house without a backup camera. We though about a Bluetooth camera to use with her phone but some of the reviews mentioned issues with connectivity and delays. I wanted something more factory like. Neither of us were crazy about the idea of an additional screen mounted on the dashboard so for the price we decided to try this unit.Installation was pretty straight forward. It came with both a cigarette lighter power cord and a hardwire power cord. I decided to hardwire it to lessen the cords running around the center console and really liked the idea of a more factory looking installation. The hardest part was running the wires from the camera to the mirror; a lot of trim removal. Other than that everything went smoothly.Being a direct wire system activation is instantaneous when you put the car in reverse. You can even turn it on with a touch of a switch right on the mirror. It has plenty of adjustments to dial in the picture the way you want it and the quality at night is very good. It’s only been in the car for about a week so how long it will last is to be seen.Bottom line, for price I highly recommend it.

CAN MOUNT CAMERA IN A HIGHER POSITION WITH THIS TRICK
I have a large bike rack on the Hitch of my Toyota Highlander and therefore I wanted to mount the camera at the top of the rear hatch underneath the rear spoiler. I figured out that I could not get the camera angle correct because I'm mounting it on the underside of the spoiler. If you flip the camera over the image on the mirror is upside down, so that is not a good option. I removed the screws that connect the camera to the mount, flipped the mount over, and reattached it to the camera. Now I can get the correct camera angle and my camera is above the bike mount. OVERALL THIS IS A GOOD BACKUP CAMERA SYSTEM FOR A REASONABLE PRICE. INSTALLATION EASE IS DEPENDENT ON YOUR VEHICLE AND HOW EASY IT IS TO GET TO THE REVERSE LIGHT WIRING. ON THE HIGHLANDER I HAD TO REMOVE A LOT OF INTERIOR PANELS. NOT THE FAULT OF THE CAMERA MANUFACTURER

VECLESUS T1 Backup Camera with 4.3” Mirror Monitor
Once I got it installed it works like a charm. It was easy to tap into the backup light and to run the mirror/monitor to the front was pretty easy using the included tool to help tuck the wire into the cars trim. I got this because it was very difficult to judge the distance behind my Santa Fe when trying to parallel park. The rear window is smallish and heavily tinted which made parking at night a real challenge. Now I know that when I hit the determined colored lines in the image I am where I need to stop. Makes backing up so easy. Also the camera is very clear and bright especially at night. No problem seeing behind my car at all. Great product - great price.
