Low Quality Product
Well, I got what I paid for. I always take lower starred reviews into account when purchasing an item, but try not to let them hold too much weight, assuming that person got a lemon of a product. But, I should have listened to the lower starred ones for this product. This product is sturdy in its individual pieces, but when put together I could probably knock this thing over with a few blows to the side. Every time I pull out a drawer, I feel like it's going to fall apart. And, in fact, once it did. The front of the drawer came off and I had to screw it back on. The handles are loose despite screwing them in as much as I could. The edges of everything are so sharp - I had to sand them down so I didn't hurt myself. I have a little knit cap taped to one corner so I don't smash my baby's head into it. For some reason I don't feel at risk with other furniture in my house that has corners but this one seems way too sharp.Anyway. It works, it holds things, but I wouldn't buy it again and next time I might even expand my budget for something of more quality so I'm not concerned for my safety every time I open the darn thing.

2 stars for the lack of product, about 3 for the actual product.
So, I never got this unit. I got tracking and saw a package go to Wyoming but that isn't where I am. Also, the package was listed as 3 pounds on delivery so I suspect shenanigans. South Shore is out of stock on this as well, might be they are phasing out the Step One line but in any event it was frustrating to wait for weeks to find out I was not getting it.I really only cared because I got matching Step One furniture and wanted a set, thankfully this will be in a closet and not visible so I am able to get by with a different piece. That said, my clothes are still in piles on the floor as I wait another two weeks for a dresser. The two stars is for my frustration, and the fact that based on the pieces I do have there is little to justify the higher price over a big box store product. Same materials, same place of manufacture, and unless the design is critical no real added value for the price. Good, but not great, furniture.

Looks beautiful but falls apart
I've bought the 5 drawer chest from the same brand and had no problems. This one kept falling apart. I even had to exchange it and the replacement is still giving me the same problems. The drawers dont stay on the tracks and the dresser is much larger than I'd expected. But it looks beautiful. You need 2 people to assemble so 1 can hold the parts together while the others screws in pieces.

I know people are giving this product a bad review because its made of particle board
I know people are giving this product a bad review because its made of particle board, but you get what you pay for. Particle board is not strong, therefor, you have to be slow and gentle with this. I'm a 23 year old girl and I put this dresser together by myself for my new apartment. I was careful and paced myself when putting this together and I managed not to break any of the boards. Its simple and its exactly what I need. Some of the boards weren't labeled, but I just figured it out using the pictures and it was fine. I was never short on parts and actually had more than I needed. It even comes with a wall mount so you can screw the dresser to the wall if you're afraid if small children might knock this over. This dresser is perfect for something quick and easy.

Does The Job
I agonized over what dresser to get my 5 year old. It seemed none on Amazon were rated very high and locally were very expensive. This was about the least expensive but I was nervous. Turned out fine. It went together pretty easy and is sturdy enough for now. It isn't as nice as an IKEA but it's good for a 5 year old. She's had it for 2 months and hasn't broken it yet. I strapped it to the wall for security using free IKEA wall straps.

Not bad for the price
Overall, it's not a bad dresser for the price. Yes, it's particle board but it's one of the best "cheap" dressers I've bought. One of the side pieces was slightly damaged upon arrival (very bottom corner towards the back of the dresser) but it was so minimal, I didn't want to have to send back the whole thing for it. Instructions and setup was fairly easy, I did it by myself. I'm 5'3" and it comes up to the bottom of my chest so a decent size.

Not good at all.
It wasn't hard to put together, but it literally fell apart in our hands like a cartoon. We picked it up to move it to the room it was going in, and everything fell apart the second it left the floor. It's in a pile to go to the dump now. Very unsatisfied with the product. Not sturdy at all. It never could be with the flimsy hardware given to build it.

Great dresser for the price.
This is a very nice simple dresser. I was able to put it together by myself in just over an hour. Just take your time and follow the directions and you will have no trouble. It is very sturdy and looks very nice. All the drawers glide in and out nicely and are sturdy enough for clothes and picture boxes that I needed stored out of the way. This is a second dresser in my room so it is holding odds and ends as well as clothing. I have now owned the dresser for three months and am very happy with it.
