Loved the story of the slave girl Hadassah whose example of loving service and living for Christ, leads her masters to Jesus at a terrible cost to herself....Her few encounters with Atretes, the German captive turned reluctant gladiator begins to be life-changing for him. A journey that Rizpah, his baby son Caleb and Theophilus the Roman centurion help complete in Atretes and others in his tribe.

This was an awesome read.

I started out by reading book three (As Sure As The Dawn) from the library. Before I even finished the book I bought the series. I know this is a series I want to keep. Although the book is fiction, it is filled with biblical truths that convict and soothe the soul. Thank you Francine Rivers for your writings. You have become my favorite author!

What a riveting, amazing tale of God's love for us and how it is expressed in our everyday lives and in the hearts of ordinary men and women who give their lives to Him. It was both encouraging and inspiring. Also very entertaining. It was hard to put the book down each day.

I found this set after wanting it forever! I bought the set for my sister, however, and I plan to get the for myself too. Great quality and I was excited to get the set in paperback rather than kindle. I am old school. My sister plans to read them this coming winter. I was given the series to read 20 years ago and my friend guarded them like they were gold! Great author and a must read!!

This is a riveting story with wild turn that brings you to the truth of our Heavenly Father. At times I felt like it was talking to me only to realize it was God.
