Droll Yankees Onyx Clever Clean and Fill Mixed Seed Bird Feeder, 12 Inches, 2 Ports, Black

Droll Yankee has made a quite nice feeder and its black color nicely matches a 12" squirrel blocking cage I already had from ChapelWood that will also keep out bully birds (starlings and grackles). That said, I DO wish Droll Yankee had made the tube slightly fatter so it WOULD hold more seed. I have submitted corrections to Amazon's product description, but until they correct it be aware that this feed has only TWO Cardinal-friendly perches (NOT 3), and holds only ONE pound of seed (NOT 2). This info can be verified at the Droll Yankee website page for the CC12S. The feeder is 12 inches long and approx 2.8 or 2 3/4" in diameter. I took one star off the product for being a little too skinny and holding too little food. I AM keeping it because it DOES fit my squirrel cage although because the tube is both skinny and relatively short (12") I'm not looking forward to having to fill it more often than my other feeders. C'est la vie

Sturdy and great for sunflower seeds! After trying a few options, this seemed to be the biggest hit with our neighborhood birdies. The ledges are a little small, so it does look a little small when larger birds, like Cardinals, come for a snack.

We and our two Ragdolls have had more fun watching the Blue Jays, Cardinals, Doves, and a few other birds at our bird feeder. I do suggest the Droll Yankees CCT Clever Clean Seed Tray as the perches on this feeder are too small for our birds to sit on. The Clean Seed Tray provides the perfect spot for the birds to sit while they are dining. Last summer I purchased a Droll Yankee feeder for the first time. I was so impressed with how well-constructed it was. By keeping it clean, it looks just as good this summer as it did last. Recently I purchased the "clever clean" model -- and am even more impressed! It's great to be able to easily twist a lock and slide off the bottom to remove debris and clean it out.Very much worth the money. I highly recommend Droll Yankee feeders. You'll have them for a lifetime.

The squirrels broke the button at the top that clicks the lid in place the first week I hung it. Still worked but not as easy to open to refill. Cleaning is terrible and ended up throwing this out. You need a special tool to get the perches off to clean food that gets built up underneath the perches. I had moldy food stuck in it and couldn’t get the perches off so threw it away.

Droll Yankee feeders are the best on the market, bar none. I never buy any other brand. This feeder makes filling and cleaning a breeze. Great quality, too.

Simple, but brillantly designed feeder. Comes in different sizes; I got the small one. Exactly asadvertised. EASY EASY EASY cleanout; bottom comes off sooo easily. Each time I fill it, I quickly openbottom to let debris from previous seeds drop out. Have not had to wash it yet, but will be easy. Such a simple design. Wish Droll Yankees had done this years ago. Perches are awesome as well. LOVE IT!

A darn nice, well made feeder that is easy to clean. Would suggest buying the CCT tray to go w this feeder to help avoid seed waste & allow cardinals a feeding area. If you do get the tray - cross your fingers that it comes w the wing nut that attaches it to the feeder.
