Eureka InstantClear - NEA-F1 filter
I have this KOBI Air Purifier as it exists under the Toshiba name brand as well as the Senville. It's also a Eureka InstantClear so there's going to be several options for replacement filters and that helps with price. There's an activated carbon filter mesh that is first in the stack and then a thicker accordion filter behind that which will likely need replacing less often.I've had the Toshiba Smart WiFi version the longest and it's been terrific. It's a bit different on options as it is enabled with Alexa so you can set a schedule. I use it in the bedroom since I like to set a different speed at night when I'm sleeping. Medium works well for me because it's a little bit of white noise. Low is really silent though if you need total quiet.Sadly, these units all resume power on in "off" mode so there's no way to use a smart plug or timer switch to control them. You need to press the power button to turn them on again after a power failure. Except for the Toshiba since it's connected to Alexa and will come on if you have it scheduled.I'm pleased with the filter life so far but my air quality has been very good. Pollen season isn't here yet.I measure the air quality with a Tusingger Air Quality Monitor and the PM2.5 and PM10 levels are significantly decreased when running this air purifier -- down to 2 and 3. TVOCs are also greatly reduced. I'll cook something and you can measure the levels pretty high. Turn on the KOBIand they'll clear out and drop in a matter of minutes.I can't really test what the UV light is doing in there but it's probably doing something. I don't run it all the time as I figure it must have some kind of life span.Right now the cheapest replacement filter is from Eureka NEA-F1. Shop around of course as there are options with multiple charcoal filters that cost more but contain more things.I like having a standard filter in the house so the KOBI does duty in the living room and runs all the time constantly while the Toshiba is taking care of the bedroom where we can yell at Alexa to turn it off if it's cold. Oh yeah, these move a good bit of air so you might find them drafty in the winter. I like the added airflow in the summer but turned the filter output towards the wall instead of the bed in the winter to cut down on drafts.

Didn’t think it did the job
Set this up in small family room. My tv stand is black and really shows the dust. Didn’t think this helped much.

Not effective at odor removal in my experience
First off, this air purifier is identical to one sold by Eureka, which is a brand I am more familiar with. That gave me comfort that replacement filters will be widely available. There appear to be dozens of air purifiers available, and it is not obvious to me, for some of them, that replacement filters will be available in the future.I tested this air purifier for a week in my 220 sq ft basement, for a week in my kitchen (which is part of an open floor plan), and for a week in my 120 sq ft home office.I put the air purifier in the center of my basement, turned it on medium, and checked for any noticeable difference in basement odor. My basement has a dusty, stale air smell, rather than a musty smell, and I was hoping this air purifier would help. Unfortunately, even after a week, it didn’t have any effect on the odor.Next, I put the air purifier in my kitchen, about 12 inches from the back wall. I had hoped it would help reduce odors related to cooking and garbage. Because of the volume of its fan, I could not leave it on medium, so I put it on low. The fan speed is pretty low in volume, but I noticed a high-pitched whine from the motor. I think, based on placing the unit in different locations in my house, that the high-pitched motor noise is only noticeable when the unit is placed on a hard floor. After setting up the air purifier, I cooked some Indian food and could smell it in the kitchen and throughout my house for several days. I concluded that the air purifier could not remove the odor, at least not in my kitchen, where I have an open floor plan and can’t place the air purifier in the optimum place for airflow.Last, I put the air purifier in my office and turned it up to medium. Its fan noise blends in with the computer fan noise in my office. It is placed on top of low-pile carpet, and I can’t hear the high-pitched whine I could hear form it when it was in my kitchen. My office does not have any odors that need to be eliminated, but it does get dusty and full of pollen in the spring, and I do spend many hours every day in there, with the door closed. So far, I have not noticed a difference in air quality, but I think the difference would be subtle anyway.
