Delonghi ECAM23120SB Magnifica S Express Super Automatic Espresso Machine, Silver

... I wanted to let others know what my experience was, and maybe save them some time and effort. I looked at just about every automatic/superautomatic machine under $1200, and for my purposes, this one was the best choice. My selection criteria were: had to be from a reputable company with a successful history and decent customer service record; had to go from whole bean to single cup and be able to make a variety of drinks, including a 'long' - regular - cup of coffee; had to be attractive to the eye and fit on my counter top without taking over; and had to be relatively easy to clean and maintain. We are not espresso fanatics, so although there may be other brands and models that render a more perfect espresso shot, that wasn't a make-or-break feature for me. I purchased this machine in December, and it took a brief period of tinkering to figure out what settings were best for me (you can adjust coffee strength, fineness of grind, temperature, volume of coffee for a 'long' coffee, interval between descalings, and timer for shutting off the machine automatically). Once I settled on the settings that are right for me, I've had an awesome experience with this machine. After reading some criticism, i.e. the flushing function when you turn it on and off, beans getting stuck and clogging up the machine, loudness, and cleaning, I had some apprehension about making the purchase, but in the almost 6 months I've had it, I haven't had any trouble with those issues. Yes, the machine does flush/self-clean when turning on and off, putting out 2-3 oz. of water each time, but that process helps keep the machine clean and running smoothly. All that is needed to avoid water on the countertop is to keep a cup under the spout during start up and after making your coffee, and there's no mess whatsoever. I use distilled water only, and the kind of filter that came with the machine. As for clogging and sticking, I use only medium roast, less oily, unflavored coffee beans, and haven't ever had beans get stuck. This type of machine does require some regular maintenance, but the commitment of time/effort required to keep it running smoothly is minimal, and definitely worth my time, considering the cost of the thing. As for loudness, I haven't used other machines of this type, so I don't know if it's especially loud or quiet, but the noise lasts for such a short time, for me it's inconsequential. So the Delonghi ecam 23120SB - Magnifica S Express silver checked all of my boxes: Delonghi is a long-standing company with a good reputation, this machine grinds beans and makes a single cup of a variety of drinks, including cappuccino for me and long coffee for my husband. It's attractive and fairly compact, as these machines go, and it is easy to take care of. Full endorsement - a great choice and worth the money!

This was a gift for my daughter. It arrived with coffee beans from the previous owner and coffee grounds in the well it was disgusting! I can’t believe I played paid nearly $1000 for a used unit that is filthy dirty! I am just so disappointed. Not much of a gift. I can’t tell you how mortifying it was. I thought I was doing something special for my daughter and that it was a really nice gift. And it turned out to be used and dirty. Thanks.

Couldn't be happier. It took a few days to figure out how we liked the different drinks and remember what the different icons mean, but after that everything has gone smoothly.

Great flavor, fast cup of coffee

I bought mine in 2017 and later passed it on to my mother. She makes about 10 coffees a day for family members, and it’s still working like new! We descale and clean it every time the red light comes on, and it has held up beautifully over the years. Highly recommended!

Very so so, limited coffee taste

Hola ahora si puedo opinar pues ya hace un mes que la tengo, la maquina es estéticamente preciosa muy elegante , cuando me llego me pase toda una tarde pro-bandola con las instrucciones delante , hice unos 30 cafés asta logran el grado de molienda y la finura del café, pues según el grado de molienda o sale el café agotas o no sale pues hay que-buscarle el punto justo de molienda y lo he conseguido, me sale un café de color marrón claro con dos chorritos perfectos, y el café excelente muchos bares quisieran hacer este café, he utilizado tres tipos de café 100% Arábiga natural, Guillis, TT, y Saula Premium, y al final me quedo con el Saula, recomiendo esta cafetera al 100X100 Delonghi ECAM 21.117.SB, es una compra perfecta, gracias Amazon por su rapidez en la entrega. y por tener estas Cafeteras DELONGUI

Bon produit conforme à la description

Wir hatten vorher eine Saeco-Maschine. Mit der waren wir auch jahrelang zufrieden. Gestern kam nun diese an und musste natürlich gleich getestet werden. Mal abgesehen vom Design dieser Maschine was mir echt gut gefällt, macht die auch noch einen guten und vor allem heißen Kaffee. Beim Einstellen der Temperatur kann ich nur raten sich von der niedrigsten Stufe nach oben zu arbeiten und nicht wie wir erst einmal voll Power zu geben. Nach einer verbrannten Zunge haben wir ganz schnell eingesehen, dass die Temparaturstufe 2 absolut ausreichend ist. Was mir auch besonders gut an dieser Maschine gefallen hat ist die einfache Bedienbarkeit. Delonghi fasst alle wichtigen Punkte in einem kleinen Heftchen zusammen und die Erklärungen sind kurz und bündig, und das Wichtigste - trotzdem verständlich. Wir hatten keine Probleme die Maschine innerhalb kürzester Zeit zu bedienen. Füllmengen zu verändern, Wassertank-Patrone einsetzen, usw. - alles kein Problem. Dass es funktioniert hat durften wir heute Morgen bei 2 Tassen leckerem Kaffee (für jeden) ausprobieren. Ich kann nur sagen - lecker. Ich bin froh, dass wir uns für diese Maschine entschieden haben. Da wir einen Induktionsmilchaufschäumer besitzen, ist die Milchschaumdüse für uns nicht so interessant. Die haben wir gestern nur zum Entlüften gebraucht. Das war bei unserem alten Kaffeevollautomat aber auch schon so.

Das Produkt ist sehr gut und würde ich auch so wieder kaufen. Allerdings gab es enorme Lieferschwierigkeiten. Der Anbieter gab auf mehrmalige Anfragen immer wieder neue Liefertermine bekannt. Da es sich um Geburtstagsgeschenk handelte war dieser Umstand extrem nervig.
