My Virtual Tutor: Reading Kindergarten to 1st Grade

My 6 year old has been struggling with learning to read. I have tried quite a few things, but he always reverts to wanting to play his DS. So I figured we could try this out. Turns out, he loves it and I believe it is helping. He is completely interested, which is hard to say at this age.

Pretty decent game for the DS. My 5 yr old twins like it. It's not their favorite but they prefer the fun racing games over educational anyway. It does what it says. It's great for beginner reading and spelling.

I bought this game for my son as a graduating from kindergarten present. He wasn't thrilled to get it, since it looked like work, but once he started playing it, he didn't put it down all weekend. He reads at exactly a going into 1st grade level. This game is a little easy for that level, although I think it gets harder the further he goes. I like that it asks questions about what he's reading, since comprehension is something he is still learning, and he has to read the choices and choose the right answers. My only complaint is that it doesn't seem to have many books in it and I think he'll finish the whole game in about a week. I might buy the first to second grade game later in the summer.

This Item was ok..not what I was looking for. It did not keep my sons attention. It only cool this first few times its played!!!!

I think this game is bad, it is not intended for the age group it suggests because it doesn't hold their attention long enough. The children get bored very quickly and want to do something else.

Its not that great. Wish I didn't waste my money on it.

My 4 year old twins absolutely love this game. There are several books to choose from and different levels of learning. The game will read the book to them and have them interact with the words. They are learning so much!

My daughter loves this! It's actually fooled her into learning and that it's fun as well. She like to learn anyway but she'd rather play at home for the most part. This changed that. She really enjoys playing it and has learned a lot from it.
