Remain calm and reassuring, and let your dog take breaks as needed. Apply Extend the cap on your EcoEars bottle, and slowly pour the solution into their ear canal. Continue until their ear canal is full. Gently restrain your dog from shaking. If your dog won’t stay still, try soaking a cotton ball and squeezing it in. Let It Set In Gently massage the base of your dog’s ear for 60-90 seconds to help the solution soak in. Keep your dog calm by petting them and talking to them reassuringly. Peanut butter, yogurt, and other rewards are a great distraction! Recover and Repeat Give your dog a reward - they did so good! Let them shake as much as they need to, and then dry their ear with a clean cotton pad. Lay them back down again and do the other side, but listen to your dog! Review: Finally, an inexpensive cure to my dog's ear fungus overgrowth and discomfort - I have an older female purebred black Labrador, 12 1/2 yrs old named Rose who has really suffered from constant ear infections for many years. I took her to the vet a few years ago about this problem and was advised to have her whole inner ear surgically removed! That is definitely something I would not consider. Surgery cannot be undone and can lead to interference fields in other parts of the body. I don't remember the cost, but it was not cheap. Also got an $80 bill for the useless vet visit. I have been trying other anti-fungals such as coconut oil, tea tree oil, oregano oil, hydrogen peroxide, herbal ear washes, etc. but they were not as comprehensive as the EcoEars. I like that all the ingredients work together to knock out the infection very quickly, within the prescribed 10 days. The first couple days, when I did the application as suggested, I could tell by her reaction, that it was very uncomfortable as it attacked the infection creating maybe a burning sensation inside her ears. We had a fresh snowfall just 2 weeks ago and when I took her outside, she was rolling head first into the snow for some relief with vigorous head shaking to get rid of the fluid. This happened several days in a row, but I could tell it was improving. Each time was less irritating for her. She wanted to get away from me when it was time to clean her ears, but I think she also knew it was helping her ears heal. I used a single paper towel to absorb any excess and to wipe out both ears & then toss...wasn't that messy. Last week, I bought the Wax-Vac ear cleaner from a local Walmart (less than $10) to try to vacuum out any debris and excess moisture. It's not necessarily made for pets, but I think it's beneficial. Rose doesn't mind the gentle suction and even helps cool off her ears internally. I have already recommended EcoEars to several people as it's a terrific product. I only used a small portion of the 8 oz bottle I purchased which is nice because I'll probably use it periodically to keep her ears healthy. I think veterinarians should at least know about this as a cure although they would probably up the price. Thank you Enchanted Naturals and desertcart.com for offering this at such a reasonable cost. P.S. I took my dog off all commercial dogfood 9 mos. ago...had her on the most expensive grain-free brands. I switched her to a raw meat diet which did wonders to clear up her dry itchy skin and all the excessive shedding and dander, plus got rid of the stinky smell and she lost the extra weight! On the high-priced dry, grain-free dogfood, she constantly scratched and bit her hind quarters to relieve the itching. The dry dogfood contributes to drying out their skin, but the raw diet replenishes the fat and oils to stop the shedding, the smell and all the itching. There's a recipe at dinovite.com. I use quinoa instead of white rice because quinoa is not a grain. Also, I throw in tumeric powder (anti-inflammatory) for arthritis, slippery elm bark powder, nettle leaf, granulated garlic, and fennel seed powder...all good for relieving dry, itchy skin. Found that at verialiving.com/whatarelief. Dinovite has great articles & products to help your pets. Dinovite also recommends feeding your dog coldwater fish..i.e. salmon, mackerel & sardines alternately for the healthy Omega-3 oils in their diet. I use the canned versions, even tuna, and she loves it! Rose is healthy and active for her age and now much better since her ears don't bother her. She only has just a little white on her chin so I think she's aging well. I don't buy or feed her any dog snacks either as they are full of junk and many are being recalled off the market with increasing frequency. As a treat, I give her beef soup bones usually boiled for 10-15 minutes. She can chew on those for a long time. She also loves dried roasted seaweed or Nori which is full of vitamins and minerals. I buy it at Safeway or Walmart very inexpensively. Another treat is a couple spoonfuls of coconut oil if its not liquid. I've thought about making my own beef or chicken jerky for her too with a healthy marinade like coconut aminos (found at health food stores) instead of soy sauce. Hope these suggestions can help you give your dog comfort, well-being and a clean bill of health. So glad I made the changes for Rose. She's much more content. EcoEars was a plus.
Review: amazing stuff for yeasty ears! highly recommend - this stuff is incredible. we had a old english sheep dog who was prone to ear infections and stinky yeasty ears, i found this stuff on my own and tried it out while giving him a bath at home. his ears were healed within the first few uses. ever since i started using it, i fill both his ears with it every bath and he hasn’t had an issue since. we’ve been using this stuff for years and have great success. our other old english has never had ear issues and i think it’s because we’ve used this on him since he was a puppy! my mom is a dog groomer and i recommended this to her after seeing how well it works & she switched out her “fancy” dog grooming ear cleaner for this and all of her clients have started buying it as well. it smells amazing & works wonders! we are a 100% non toxic household so i love the ingredients, i love how gentle it is & love how effective it is! i have bought this for years & will continue to do so!!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: does it work?**
A: It works very well. My dog had flaming red irritated ears with black smelly drainage. I started using EcoEars twice daily for 2 days and then once a day for 8 more. His ears were clear within 5 days...I continued for the full 10 days...just to make sure. He was allergic to his dog food. It's been several months and his ears are still clear.

**Q: Put some in my Lhasa's ears last night but he's done nothing except shake his head wildly...now the exterior of the ear is bright red. Afraid to use**
A: Hi Linda, it's Ann from Vet Organics. All our products come with a couple things: 1) customized advice on how to best get around initial reactions like your Lhasa's. Just write our product specialists at info@vet-organics.com (put your phone in the email for fastest advice and assistance); & 2) a money-back guarantee. We want your dog to experience the same healing and clean, healthy ears that 97% of our customers' animals achieve, and if we can't help, we will give you a refund. Thank you for writing!

**Q: what are the ingredients**
A: Tea tree oil is not the main ingredient as someone suggested. All products list the key or highest concentration ingredients in order of first to last or least. Tea tree oil is an anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and an anti-fungal. It can also be an irritant. The witch hazel is an astringent to keep oil away. Alcohol should never be placed in the ear. Google better or ask your physician. This is why many people have reported a bad reaction. It burns, and you're pouring it in your dog's ear! People put it in their own ears for swimmer's ear (despite the burn) because alcohol binds to water molecules and they both evaporate. Hydrogen peroxide is safe for infected dog and human ears and will not burn. It fizzes and is an antiseptic. I wouldn't recommend pouring EcoEars in your dog's ear because you may be causing them pain and discomfort without realizing it. Wiping the ear down and avoiding the canal seems best.

**Q: Are these drops to put in the ears, or something to put on swabs or cotton rounds to wipe the ear?**
A: UPDATED ANSWER: Most people who use the product find using a COTTON BALL or yes, cotton rounds (but not Q-tip) is a good way to apply EcoEars. Just pour some EcoEars on a large cosmetic cotton ball or cotton pad (flat square or round) that you can find in the cosmetics aisle. This helps get EcoEars into your dog's ear easily. Hi there, Nelly had the right answer below Do NOT use cotton swabs (aka Q-tips). They are not necessary. Just a soft tissue (Kleenex), a paper towel, or clean, old T-shirt scrap to wipe away solution and debris after you pour a small amount in your dog's ear and massage the base of his ear well to break up any 'gunk.'

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good product
*by N***Y on June 22, 2015*

So I've had this for a little over 3 weeks now and wanted to wait to review after I gave it a good chance to work. I was skeptical at first. My beagle-hound mix has ear issues on and off - black discharge with redness inside her ear. Your typical yeast infection. The first time I used it we did it as directed and she was not a happy camper. You can tell by the smell it probably stings a bit. There was nasty black stuff flying everywhere. If you can do it outside that's probably best. The second time we attempted she took one look at the bottle and ran for the hills. She wasn't having it. And no amount of bacon in the world would coax her. So plan b. Sneak attack. I waited until she was sound asleep and bam I squirted it in her ear. I think I got the stink eye from her for a few days. Then onto plan C. Hubby held her down and I poured it in. Same upset dog. There was no way I could do this twice a day as recommended. I figured we'd only do it once a day but for a little longer. I couldn't see putting her through it twice a day. I did start using a medicine dropper which worked so much better than trying to pour it in (might be a good idea to include one with purchase). After a week we started to see less redness & less black funk in her ear and also noticed that it didn't seem to bother her as much when we dropped it in. I can't lie, she's still not thrilled about it, but the infection is almost gone. It would be a breeze to do this with a small dog but my 50 pounder is giving me a run for my money! I still would go this route again. Even if we went to the vet I'd still be trying to corral her to put drops in her ear and it'd cost way more.
