Great tire, big fan of the original High Rollers
UPDATE: 10-09Been riding these tires since my original review. Knobs are just about worn but the tacky compound is fast and still hooks up.Side knobs have always been an issue as far as tearing. Usually go around with some CA glue(found in hobby shops) or super glue if you will. I applied silicone spray every now and then to keep the rubber soft.Over all I love these tires. They do wear a bit fast on rocky terrain but in the NW we are kings of loam so not much of an issue. After riding a lot of granite the side knobs are pretty much done...however they are still the bees knees and hook up great. Having no issues riding clay based soil and still hitting berms with authority. Still a Maxxis fan however going to be running Schwalbe Magic Mary up front this winter for the wet NW.Great tire, big fan of the original High Rollers. In comparison on dry fast sections these feel faster and more lively than the originals. Been hitting Whistler style berms the last couple weeks, leaning over is different until you get used to leaning a little later/deeper and digging in harder. These tires rail!!

Best All Mountain Tire Hands Down!
I have been running high roller 2s on my bikes forever so when it came time to build up my new Surly Karate Monkey I knew exactly what I had to get. While I've only gone on 5 or so rides with this pair they have been amazing so far and I can tell you from previous experiences that nothing will beat them. The traction is very good, especially with the triple compound, and even riding through all the mud this week I had no issues. Also throughout the 4 pairs I have owned so far I have never popped a tire. Can't say the same thing about the Schwalbes that came on my bike and popped first ride set up tubeless. Overall this is an amazing tire and you won't regret picking it.

Effing up the trails with these hoggers!!!
Love how these hook up and boy the trails so well. Maxxis makes the best tires I have ever competed on. 30 years of professional downhill racing I have tried a lot. Maxxis are my number 1 choice from now on! Maxxis sponsorship in the works!

The grip is great and the sidewalls appear strong
The grip is great and the sidewalls appear strong. I run a tubeless setup on Sunringle Chargers and this is my first set of Maxxxis tires. The setup was a breeze so A+ there. There are a lot of large bedded rocks here, so the tread appears to have taken a beating early on. Some knobs have been completely torn off. This may be the compromise for the awesome grip so we’ll see how long they last.

Best Rear Tire for Trail
Amazing tire. The performance is wonderful for trail riding. It's not the fastest so I wouldn't recommend it for XC, but for trail the traction is phenomenal. A helpful tip for more traction is run you tires at around 45 psi to get some more traction but, if you're doing mostly climbs keep it high. A good tire to pair this up with in the front is the Minion DHF.

Great rear end tire
This is a nice upgrade from the original Roller. If you're into serious downhill or hard enduro, this Roller II is your back ends best friend. In my opinion what makes this a better tire over the original Roller is the cornering traction. Both the Roller and Roller II have great straight-line speed and braking traction, however, when you really push the Roller in the corners I always felt a little looseness. Running the same PSI on the same downhill trail with Roller II, I definitely feel a little more planted in the corners!

Not the fastest, but simply the best for me.
These tires are great! They are a bit on the aggressive side, but if that's what you're looking for look no further. These roll super well while offering great grip. I use them on my "all around bike" i use them for Aggressive Pisgah riding, less aggressive tech trail riding and even when I go to Moab and surrounding, there's plenty of grip.

Compared to the SuperTacky DH version, this is alot more loose
The tire is great on most counts just like the 4 sets of High Roller II tires that i've run. I'll spare you the discussion about the incredible cornering and braking ability. Here's how it is plain and simple: if you want a high roller that will last a little longer then these are for you. The cost of this durability is an absolutely noticeable loss of cornering grip compared to the High Roller II Super Tacky DH casing tire that it replaced. Yes, it seems to be more durable, but I'm not sure that the loss of grip is worth it. I dont like the EXO casing either; if you are in the habit of hucking your bike off stuff hard or shredding berms, this tire will come off the bead. I've been running tubless for all my Maxxis tires and I have to say that the DOWNHILL/FREERIDE performance of the DH Super Tacky version of this tire was superior on all marks. NOW, where I see this tire being suitable is on an all mountain rig where you will be putting in a mix of cross country miles and some occasional rowdy descents. This tire weighs less than the aforementioned one and is also better with rolling resistance and treadlife. PICK YOUR TIRE SMARTLY
