NRS Voss Knife

Do not buy this knife if you paddle in salt water. I purchased three in Jun 2024, one for each of my three PFDs. In March 2025, all three are showing signs of corrosion even though I fresh water rinse my gear after each paddle. One of the three has so much corrosion that it is locked closed. That knife (pictured) was only used for two kayak camping trips, 12 days paddling total.

Very light weight, but not easy to open wet, especially with gloves

Very cheap. Really expected more from NRS. I would have paid more for a better made knife.

Sturdy and sharp, nice design. Seems a little bulkier and heavier than my other knives of similar size though. Lanyard hole could be larger. Most of the handle is a rubbery plastic material, feels good in the hand but not sure how it will hold up over many years.

This knife feels cheap, especially given the price. It’s a bit difficult to open (definitely requires two hands for me), the tip still seems a little bit dangerous (I prefer the ones with an even blunter edge)...all things considered, I wish I had gone with a different knife. I’d recommend watching some video reviews before buying this. Note: This is made in China and has “China” etched into the blade.
