Great knife, it will last a lifetime
I bought an Old Hickory to knife over 50 years ago at Shocks Hardware in Gardena. I still have and use this knife. It is strong, doesn't bend, and keeps it's edge. It is true that if you don't see dry it, it would/could rust, but I have never had a problem with mine. I bought another to keep at my vacation home

These are great BBQ Knives
These are great BBQ Knives. These knives hold a great edge. They have a good weight. It cuts through BBQ effortlessly. They do need a little special attention when cleaning since they are not stainless. They are a great inexpensive option.

Would absolutely recommend.
I’ve owned this beautiful knife for about a month and so far I don’t know how I’ve cooked without it for so long. The handle Is sized great for my Mechanic’s hands and feels sturdy and the wood provides excellent grip. The length and size of the blade always gets looks and complements when I brandish it while cooking with an audience. It holds an edge quite well but does require maintenance to stay razor sharp. I always wash it immediately after use then apply some olive oil to keep it from rusting. My favorite part about it is how the steel has started to change colors, giving it a nice aged patina. I give it 5/5 stars and enthusiastically recommend it to anyone who enjoys using quality cutlery.

Great for the price.
Ordered two of these, one had about a 1/16” deep ding on the cutting edge near the tip. About 20 minutes on the wet wheel had it in good shape. The other knife, the handle was a little loose, took a punch and hammer to restake the pins I. The handle and tightened it up. Overall good knife for the cost, but quality control is a bit subpar, unfortunately that’s the case with a lot of products these days.

It’s sharp!
It works. It’s not as smooth as a stainless steel knife, but it’s sharper. You can’t beat carbon steel for sharpness. This is a traditional fine kitchen tool, and you have to treat it like one.No dishwasher. Not good for the handle. Occasionally oil the wood handle, I use high quality Music Nomad F-One oil. And just like cast iron pans, you have to oil the blade after washingWith Flaxseed oil.It will last into the next century if you take care of it.

I would recommend
Great knife, but the first time I washed it, it had flash rust on it. Not sure if I did something wrong, but hadn't happened before

Have sanding and sharpening skills to finish a great knife.
Consider these an assembled diy kit. They are not sharpened and the wood needs to be sanded flush with the tang and smoothed. After about 2 hours I have a great knife made of excellent steel thats razor sharp

Get to use when BBQing 👍🏽
Best cutter, chopping, slicing & dicing butcher knife I own just for grilling outside. Even helps with flipping meat over as well as stabbing cooked pieces of meat like a fork for taste testing. Very sharp. However, once you hand wash it. DO NOT let air dry. Dry it immediately. Otherwise you will find rust spots on it like a cast iron pan.

This is one badass knife. Thanks to BBQ Pit Boys. Now I have my 10 inch butcher, and a 14 inch butcher as well, and highly recommended.

The price hurts
The price is an eye-watering 6 times more than I paid for the first one bought several decades ago. However, it is an excellent tool quite in keeping with the quality expected from the Ontario Knife Company.

Worst quality from OKC
Definitely stay away from this knife. The quality is the worst they make. Other sizes of this exact knife are much better. I have 4.
