He has an opportunity to save her life when 2 inmates try to take over the infirmary. As a reward he is granted parole.I really enjoyed this romance. Knox is a hardened criminal but Briar brings out the best in him & he's super protective. There's several explicit love scenes. I'd have rated this 5 stars but I don't like when time is spent setting up the next book in the series at the expense of the current story. Ms. Jordan does that here.Really a terrific romance. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Very well written but not really my brand of reading catnip so I struggled to connect *by T***Q on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on April 24, 2016* I just finished All Chained Up and it's kinda hard for me to review.****SPOILERS****It was very well written. The character development was well done. It was a totally unique premise.But I struggled to finish it. That makes me sad because I really do think it was a good book and would definitely recommend it to others, it just wasn't my thing. This has a lot more to do with my personal preferences, though, than with anything else. It was dark and angsty and totally NOT my brand of catnip.It was really interesting that the first 40% of the book took place in prison and, while there was tension between Briar and Knox, there was certainly nothing romantic or physical going on.Knox was a unique hero because he hadn't just spent several years in prison, he was guilty of a pretty serious crime. The author didn't minimize that and while Knox explains that it wasn't his intention to kill the man, he does think the man deserved to die. It was also interesting to see the very realistic way that life went on for Knox after prison. He was able to lead a relatively normal life but people were wary of him and there were those connected to the dead man that thought he was scum.Briar was definitely the less complex of the two main characters but her background with a father abusive towards her mother made her approach to life and conflict more interesting.The chemistry between the two was palpable and the love scenes were scorching.I only had one actual complaint about the story and that was that they really didn't spend enough time actually getting to know each other to believably fall in love. They spent a lot of time having mind blowing sex but basically one night of true companionship. They did know a lot about the other person's character but not much about their personalities, goals, etc. I think if maybe there had been one less sex scene (usually my favorite part of a romance novel so I can't believe I am saying that) and one more scene getting to know each other it would have been better.Anyway, it looks like Reid will get his story next (instead of North, who I was fascinated with), which I will probably read simply because I am curious how the author will make a genuinely dangerous criminal into a hero. The fact that the heroine will most likely be the First Daughter seems odd but I look forward to it anyway. I just hope I connect more to it than I did this book. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Ahhh *by D***J on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 3, 2022* Ahhh, nice HEA..The last few pages left me with a smile. A good girl and a bad grumpy boy.Good characters, good plot and good writing. I liked the idea of the prison, the dialogue wasn't bad and the love scenes were good. The way their love was burning could be felt through the pages.It was interesting, fast and light read. I will be buying the next release of the series.Just one little little complaint: Briar's usual frase as soon as she was seeing him was "what are you doing here?".
