Motor is great. Customer service was terrible
I bought this motor along with the MAX8 G2 ESC for my father in law. I’ve now bought 3 motor / ESC sets from HW. When he received this motor, it didn’t come with any wires at all. Also, this motor apparently has the later version of the censored cable connection and it will not connect to the ESC without an adapter. All of which can be handled fairly easily now that we know. However, when he reached out to Mark with HW customer service, he was told quite rudely, just to buy some heavy gauge wire and the adapter for connecting the censor cable. Mind you, I’m just now getting back into RC world after many years away and trying to just do something to spend time together as we used to years ago. I’m easily $1,100 deep into just HW electronics in a month for several builds and they literally couldn’t care less. I’d definitely handle things differently if I were dealing with a customer that couldn’t even hook up his new motor. What’s a few wires and a cable adapter to a company this large? The product is great so far. If I were simply rating the product, it’d be a great rating. I had to rob the cables from my 1/8 scale Castle Creations motor just to get this to work. Now, I’ve got to replace those at some point. Again, not the end of the world. But, if you’re buying these motors and run into anything at all, don’t expect a single bit of help from HW. It’s sad that they treat customers like a number, instead of actually caring to help.

Be prepared w/additional items to complete
I purchased the Hobbywing Max 8 ESC and this 4268SD motor for a new Assoc. RC8B4e. Both components appear of good quality and the motor fits nicely in the car.Unfortunately, I found that there is no way to connect the motor's sensor wire to the ESC, despite the fact that 2 sensor wires were included--neither work. There was also no motor wires or bullet connectors.A friend also bought a 1/8 Hobbywing motor/ESC setup at the same time. He did not experience the problems I had, so I contacted the company's cust supp. I was told by them to go buy an adapter to get them working together or buy a different motor; the one suggested to me will never fit a B4e. My question of the primary motor wires/connectors was not addressed. These are things that can be sorted easily enough. However, at $300 (149.99 motor, 149.99 esc) with no way to connect them together, I feel this is an incomplete combo.
