Great body camera, in use for 3.5 years
I've been using the older generation of this PatrolMaster body camera almost every day since 2021 (i.e., for the past 3.5 years) and I'm very happy with it. I use it for my peace of mind when walking my dog.The digital user interface is easy to navigate, even though the white paint has now rubbed off the little black buttons on the back. (I never removed the clear plastic screen protector on the back screen and it's still there though!) The camera still reliably takes and records high-quality clear videos, and the battery power is going strong. This camera also has a setting that allows you to continuously record over the oldest videos, so you don't need to worry about clearing out the videos.I wanted to flag a few more things for other users. One, I finally found a car dashboard mount that's compatible with this PatrolMaster body camera: the Aolbea suction cup mount. You use the PatrolMaster's short clip to clip it into the mount. (To use the longer clip that comes with the PatrolMaster, you have to snap or cut off the little nub at the end of the claw for it to fit.) I have not yet tested the Aolbea's suction cup in a drive as I just got it, but I am pleased that my body camera fits into it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B96TW6QGTwo, sometimes this body camera's date and time will reset on its own to a date many years before. I don't know what causes this; it's happened only a few times I've owned it. So you have to be vigilant about that and periodically review the video files to check that the timestamp is correct.Three, if you plug a USB cable into this body camera and connect it to your computer, your computer should recognize the camera as a new drive and you should then be able to view the video recordings as if you're browsing a USB flash drive. So if you plug in a USB cable and nothing happens, it means the USB cable you're using isn't the right type and you need to try a different USB cable.Fourth, sometimes the side on/off button sticks now. Like if you push in the red button to start recording, occasionally it gets stuck pushed in and I have to use a key to push it in further to unstick it. This is a very minor issue though.Fifth, I saw somebody else's review or question expressing frustration that you can't review a video directly on the body camera. Actually, you can do that, and I've done it. I just don't remember all the buttons I have to press to do it, so I just wait to get home and connect the camera to my computer.Overall, this is a fantastic body camera and I highly recommend it!

Works well!
I bought this camera to protect myself from any unexpected events that might happen. This is much better than I expected. Very simple to use and very durable. The video/image quality is very good and you can adjust the clarity to fit your needs based on resolution options. The sound quality is better than expected. Its video files are easy to access, save & delete by plugging the camera into the USB port on your computer. It recognize my device directly.

Solid, affordable choice
After having played around with this thing for a month, I must say I am very happy with my decision to buy this. Quite a few different selections out there in this price range and I ultimately decided to get this particular device based on the reviews. I picked up this bodycam as I work in a private security patrol unit in a major metropolitan area. The job has me going to some pretty sketchy places and dealing with some sketchy people so I wanted something to cover my rear in case I have to take action at a property.Very first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box was how solid the unit felt. There was no creaking, no rattling, no shaking, nothing. I've messed around with some coworkers' body cameras (from other manufacturers) before and most felt very cheap and fragile. Not the case here. It came with everything you needed to get it up and running: two types of clips, a data/charging cable, wall charger, and the paperwork needed to set it up. Admittedly I found the instructions somewhat confusing as they looked like they were written in another language and then tossed into a translator. Nevertheless, I was able to figure out the basic controls and then work through the remainder of the settings on my own. Some of my favorite features are the auto switching between daytime and night modes (off by default) and the pre-record function that attaches the previous 15 seconds of footage before you push the button to the video file. Very important feature to help provide some context to an incident prior to you starting to record. I would have loved to have had 30 seconds of pre-recording instead of 15 but that's just a me thing. The cool thing that I was not expecting is the pre-recorded footage also has sound for the duration of those 15 seconds, unlike some police-grade cameras you'll see out there that will only pre-record video without sound. The auto-switch between day and night modes has been working very well so far. Only thing is that the camera emits a noticeable click when it switches. Not really a deal breaker but working nights like I do and going back and forth between lit areas and dark areas, it can get a little annoying after a while. There are several video quality settings to choose from as well. I find myself running it on the 1080p30fps setting most often. I feel like this provides the best balance between video quality and file size. It's not a professional grade recording device by any stretch of the imagination but will do just fine in the majority of situations I could possibly think of encountering. One thing I was particularly worried about was the battery life of this unit. I am happy to say that by running it on standby for an 8-hour shift (on and pre-recording, not actively recording footage), I still have a good two-thirds of my battery left at the end. I still charge it up after every use but could easily see this lasting two or three shifts before needing to be recharged. Speaking of which, it charges easily and relatively quickly using the included cable and wall adapter. That being said, I usually set it to charge before going to bed after a shift and have yet to run the battery down to empty so I can't really comment on how long it takes to juice it back up. All I know is that it's ready to go when I wake up again and that's all I really care about. The clips were another point of concern for me when looking at all the different options out there. The connection point turned out to be pretty solid, with no movement between the camera and the clip when properly secured. The only issue I have with this mounting system is that the clips slide into a plastic bracket that is molded into the casing of the camera. If something happens and it snaps off, there is no way that the user would be able to replace or repair that bracket. I would have loved to see a mounting system that screws into the back or something else that could easily be replaced if broken off but no joy. I haven't had any issues with it so far though so hopefully it stays that way.The last thing I wanted to touch on was the display and controls. Although it is advertised as a one-touch system for the buttons, I found that double-pressing them tends to work a lot more reliably that a single press. Another issue I ran into was then when going through the menus to play back footage on the camera itself, it can sometimes start recording during that process. Somewhat annoying and I have had to basically power the unit down and then back up after playing recorded video just to make sure no weird stuff happens. It's a rare occurrence that I'm playing video back on the camera (I usually download the footage to my computer before viewing it) but something worth noting. After the restart, everything seems to work just fine. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're in the market for an affordable body camera. If you're looking to use this to record action sports or something, I would look elsewhere. For more professional applications, this is a great unit. I'm hoping I'll get a lot more use out of this but will definitely update this review if anything changes.

Surprisingly Great Body Cam
**Update**It doesn't seem to allow for characters to where we can put an officers name.It will let me do Id#'s and PID only in numbers. Grrrrr. I'd like to enter names likeJ SmithOrJ. SMITH for example.First off, I'm pretty picky on my gadgets! With that being said, my overall rating from 1 to 10 for this camera would a 10. Maybe even a 12 lol. This body cam has amazing battery life. I think I got up to about 17hrs of recording on the battery. I mean, it hard for us to get much more than an hour on a GoPro 5. Not sure how many have noticed but this camera does have zoom(press & hold the up or down buttons) That's a great feature. It takes great photos as you can even set it to take a burst of pictures with just one press of the button. You can set it to automatically turn the IR on for those times you have to walk into a dark building OR bedroom for your business needs, lol. Really the only one thing I could see that would improve this fancy gadget is to add "image stabilization" to it. That would make this the A+++ body cam for along time. One of the latest Gopro has this feature and it is amazing. I like the blaze. I use it to aim the camera when I have it set for "motion detection." Easy! This thing is so easy to work. The only difficulty I had is the ID info where you have to download that link. I tried it, had some problems with the link then didnt worry about it anymore. Beyond that, I have purchased 2 of these. And that's just for myself :) It truly is a great body cam.Has some weight to it so it feels tough as well.I will add updates in the future.
