Melissa & Doug Giant Black Lab - Lifelike Stuffed Animal Dog (over 2 feet tall)

I bought this as a training decoy to work with my dog-reactive dogs...and boy howdy is it working as a convincing decoy! I have kept it hidden from the problem dogs, but even my mild-mannered dog-friendly dog was growling at it and trying to sniff its butt. The cats FREAKED, especially when I went and locked it in a closet! Even I scared myself when I left it in the bathroom momentarily and saw it out of the corner of my eye...confusion abounds. This fun little fake addition to my pack is perfect for creating a safe, controlled environment to work on dog reactivity with my REAL dogs. (And is very cute and soft, too) :) It is very sturdy, stands on its own with no problem, and is exactly as pictured. Perfect for dog trainers like myself to work on dog reactivity.

We lost our beloved Black Lab a few days ago. She was 14. She had been with us sooo long that her absence left a deafening silence and a void in our home so profound even we had not expected it to be that deep. I bought this to hang her collar on and in some strange way it is visually comforting just to see this standing in her space. It's well made, very lifelike, and it's unexpectedly helping me to get through this. It's helping my heart to heal by filling the visual void. That's a pretty big help right now. I highly recommend.

100% would buy this again! I absolutely LOVE this! It’s so realistic looking that I’ve jump scared my fiancé several times because it’s so real looking. 🤣 It’s like I have a dog without the need to feed and walk it and it’s perfect for my apartment because I can’t have live animals so this is perfect. When I’m out of town I leave him in the window to make it look like my apartment is protected even though I don’t have a dog.

My son was getting treatment at St. Jude for AML Leukemia. We were there from January to July 2021. It was the middle of CoVID so we were all alone just me and him. The rest of my family could not be there to limit his exposure to germs because the chemo kills his immune system. I would love to tell you he missed his brothers and sisters, but the truth is he really missed his dog. She is a black lab. His mom found this dog and decided get it for him. It arrived in a big box and he was grinning from ear to ear when he opened it. That dog became our mascot! Every day we took turns moving it to random parts of the house, and surprised any maintenance or cleaning staff who entered the apartment. Some nights the dog ran away to other patients rooms with toys or cookies in its service harness. It would return to us a few hours/ days later with notes or gifts from other patients. My son named him ChemoSabe. That poor dog was lucky he didn't have his coat petted off while he lived at St. Jude. He was very sturdy and survived a 12 year old trying to ride him... never lost his shape! The only problem was when we finally went home our "real" dog was not to thrilled with the new dog that Jackson brought with him. The price of this dog has gone up quite a bit since we bought ours, but I still think it is a good deal. We just sent one to another St. Jude family and can't wait to hear stories about their adventures!

My husband text me the link for this plush when I told him I was going to the store to find a stuffed animal to sleep with. Less than 2 weeks ago, my SA died and it was as if I had lost one of my children. Kylo was my shadow, for years he was always by my side no matter where I was. He was my comfort on such a soul level that I physically didn’t know what to do with myself after. Melissa and Doug’s plush is a God send for me during my grieving. He arrived a day early (today) and I couldn’t be happier. This is the closest thing I will ever have to being able to hold my baby again and it fills the physical void of him being gone. He isn’t quite as big since he is puppy size. The eyes and nose are not quite right but I didn’t expect it to be anything but a toy, not exactly life like. However, it’s enough to get our older, female dog to snarl since the plush never drops eye contact. The stitching is amazing! He has folds under his chin like the hanging skin on labs and great paw replication. His head is firm but has a soft body. I would recommend this plush for anyone for whatever reason. There are so many great photos and reviews that I wanted to share one of my Kylo so you could see how perfect the plush is for me.

Trotz des hohen Preises habe ich wegen des Produktbildes etwas eher Krummes und Instabiles erwartet. Bin von der Qualität absolut positiv überrascht. Bin Hundetrainerin und nutze den Hund als Dummy im Training mit reaktiven Hunden, dafür ist er großartig! Den Karton, in dem er ankam, hab ich möbliert und als Tiny House vermietet. ;)
